Mrs. Deputy Dawg insisted that we go see "Tag" because her nephew went to high school with the director.  I thought "Damn, this sucks", but "Tag" turned out to be a hilarious movie.  Strongly recommended.

The Meg: Exactly what it sets out to be.

The first 30 minutes is pretty submarine oriented so that may interest some people on the board.  Absolutely no use of submarine jargon though which was very disappointing.

Eighth Grade

Bo Burnham's movie is great.  Thrilled for him.
I liked it too, Dlew. Been following him since his early, early YouTube days and even got to meet him when he came to McCain. Very happy for him.

Yeah me too (not the mccain part).  I still remember the first time i saw 3.14 Apple Pie on Bigboys.com (the predecessor of Break.com).   That was probably 12 years ago or so.  Been rooting for him ever since.

I don't regret watching it. Good beginning and good ending (minus the coda, and I don't want to explain what that means because spoilers). The middle kinda dragged on a bit. The Trump commentary sprinkled throughout was a bit too on-the-nose. I prefer subtlety. The individual performances were pretty good, actually. Libs will love it. Pubs probs won't. It will probs win several Oscars.

I walked out feeling about 4/7. Not a movie I'm rushing to recommend to my friends, but I also wouldn't try to dissuade someone from watching it. I just felt Spike was a bit too heavy-handed with the way he chose to make all the satirical stuff so obvious, but I guess maybe the low brows need that kind of signalling.

I'm sure you probably could, but the ticket person would probably frown upon it.

Way way back is way good.

My favorite Rockwell flick is Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.  I thought he was fine in 3 Billboards but has more deserving performances.

I am very late but I rough ridin' hated 3 Billboards and stopped watching about 20 minutes in.

I couldn't stand the accents/grammar. Seemed incredibly fake. I didn't make it to the blood spitting

i think the blood spitting was around 21 minutes in so i think i made it 1 minute more than you did.  i was disappoint.  may try to pick it back up again but doubt it.

i don't understand why people would rather grind out something so meh rather than watch a classic like dog day afternoon or commando.  to each their own i guess.

I have not seen that movie, but did either of you ever stop to consider that maybe the first 20 minutes were that way for a reason and/or to set up the rest of the movie. like, people get on roller coasters all the time and accept the fact that the first thirty seconds are usually nothing more than slowly going up hill. what if everybody was like "boring and super slow up hill coaster! I got off this coaster after 20 seconds! terrible!"

3 Billboards was a great flick, in my book. Definitely a rollercoaster.

except I didn't really have a problem with the plot developing - I was actually intrigued. I just hated the way the dialogue was written and the accents and it was not worth sitting through on the rest of my flight.

You had more valuable things to do on a flight?  You really must've hated it.

Avengers: Infinity War --  Very not bad.  Probably top 1/3 of Marvel movies.  2 things:  1) Thor has gone from my least favorite Avenger to most favorite.  Wow, what a stud.  2) I don't really understand Thanos' motivation for killing half the universe.  Just population control?  If the infinity stones give you basically unlimited power couldn't he just create like a billion more planets so there would be enough room?  Thanos was a great villain though, probably the best yet.
