As stated 10 times previously, no one here and very few people elsewhere actually hated him for his religious beliefs.  He was a great college QB, not a good NFL one, like Collin Klein, Vince Young, Eric Crouch, etc.

I couldn't stand him because he wouldn't shut up about being a Christian, so everyone else wouldn't shut up about him being a Christian, and it took away from the fact that he was a mediocre quarterback who was using his faith to build his brand.

Klein was Christian as crap, but no one brought it up because he didn't wear it on his sleeve.  They're like the exact same guy, but Klein went about it the right way.  People tried to get him to go on about it, but he generally shut it down and just let his actions do the talking.

It's also cool that Tim is religious and that his team embraced him, even though a bunch of bigots hate him for being religious.

There are much fewer people that hate Tebow because he's Christian(and they exist) than there are that hate Sam because he's gay.  It's a non-issue that you are making into an issue, people hating Tebow because he's Christian isn't affecting him nearly as much people hating Sam because he's gay(restriction of rights, many more bigots, etc.)
