needing a new outdoor grill.  was thinking about a pellet grill which i've used before, very easy and versatile, but keep seeing these blackstone/weber flat top smash burgers and breakfast stuff, and the possibilities of making totally unhealthy greasy stuff looks like fun.  maybe a blackstone and then a cheaper propane grill for when i just want to grill, but then think i'd miss out on wanting to smoke ribs or a pork butt.  what are the best solutions to get grilling/smoking/flat top cooking without having to buy 3 different units?
Buy a grill/smoker combo unit like a pellet or kamado.  Then get a cast iron griddle you can throw on there.

This is timely.  Oldest just turned 16.  He’s busy enough with practices and work that we’re sick of driving him around.  What do we get?  Preferably something good enough to last him through college or to pass down to two other kids.  But he’s probably going to wreck the thing so nothing super nice.  Just an old Toyota I guess.  He’ll hate it.

In regards to the NINE new cat contractors we brought on last month (feral cats caught in local town) we have caught 6 of them on the game cam located in their home aka the garage. My dad even set up a heat lamp and box with blankets for them to stay in

Where are you getting those cats?  In the alley behind the B-Hive?

Yes, SLC brewery scene is surprisingly good.

There are no breweries in Provo.  I believe there is only one (with two locations) in that entire county.  I think most fans would want to stay in SLC (or Park City) and drive or train down to the game.

If you want to drink at an establishment…

Beer on tap is limited to 5% even at a brewery.  You can buy stronger beers, but they will be in a can or bottle.

Cider isn’t beer, so you can get hard cider above 5% on tap.

Cocktails are limited to 1.5 oz of the primary liquor.  There can be up to 1 oz of additional secondary liquors in the drink.  The pours are metered so no getting around it.

If the place has a restaurant license, you must order food to drink.  If the place has a bar license, food is not required but must be 21+ to enter.

There are limits to how much alcohol you can have in front of you.  I’m a little sketchy on the rules, but I don’t think you can have a beer and a whisky in front of you at the same time for example.

You can get 5%ABV beers and seltzers at grocery and convenience stores.  Anything stronger (including wine and booze) you must buy at state-owned liquor stores that have limited hours, locations, and no coolers.  There is one loophole, you can buy cold, fresh beer to go directly from a brewery.  That’s the best option.

No alcohol allowed on the entire BYU campus.  But this last season, they set up an off-campus tailgating lot with bus service a couple miles away for all of the drunken Big 12 gentiles.

Sunbirding!

Snowbird/Sunbird is my goal.  Mountain town in the summer, SW desert in the winter.

Agree with the St George comments.  Similar to Az but a little cooler.  Lows average at or just below freezing in Jan and highs in the 50s.  By March you’ll be up to 70s or even some 80s.  Again, fantastic outdoor recreation there. Some of the weird Utah things to get accustomed to, buts it’s slowly normalizing as the population grows.

And the entire Wasatch front will be down there for MLK, Presidents’ Day weekends, so you can bitch and moan about all the out of towners messing everything up.

Never done it, but I’d choose Arizona if I did.  Warm desert sunshine in the winter is a wonderful thing.  Some excellent outdoor recreation down there.  And you can see a Cats bball game.

Honest question; how worried would we have to be about vandalism and potential violence? I’m talking at the stadium, and also around the city?
Can you imagine how many little sharpie hawks and dongs and hawks with dongs they’d draw all over our stadium?  I don’t want that filthy fan base infesting my family friendly Kansas State University.

Wichita State

Who is gonna tell him

Do you think KU would fly or drive down to that stadium? I understand the Flint Hills aren't that mountainous as compared to the Rockies, but still...

They tore the stadium down this summer
What?!  Really?  Are they going to put something up to continue hosting state track?

Watched the newest Mission Impossible (fantastic) before Christmas with the boys.  Then we decided to watch them all over the break.  Yikes that second movie was nearly unwatchable.
