Do we bounce back?
« on: January 30, 2018, 09:52:42 AM »
oscar needs to really do some deep thinking about our next few games as they are true road tests and it seems we have only played pudding teams on road other than tech and KU. I don't know what TF happened last night but it was horrid. Cats are gonna have to kill it in this next stretch if they wanna keep ranking votes and if they want a shot at getting a better seed than a play in.

The Oscarcoaster will continue. It's on a steep plunge now and doesn't start tracking upward until the Horns come to town.

We beat TTU at home and lose the two roadies.   Will be 6-6 heading into the last 6 and pick up ISU at home UT at home and Baylor at home, maybe get OSU on the road for a 9-9 10-8 finish and then get bounced in the first round.

seems likely baring an injury to Wade.

Does the above get oscar a real extension? I hope to hell the Mustang lets Weber shop himself around in San Antonio but who knows.

oscar is 61. He's not going anywhere. He'll gladly take his 1.85 mil/year and cruise off into the konza sunset.

We win the next 2.  I hope the poor performance last night was due to fatigue as shots kept missing short.  Hopefully Oscar will tell Mawien not to bee a 3 bomber.

1) if we win out at home, we only need 1 road W to get to 10-8.

2) that being said, I think it's big if we get 1 of these 2 road wins (probably Texas).

3) I think 4-0 at home is possible, but I think 3-1 is just as likely.

4) odds are not good we finish 11-7, but if it happens, I will be very happy with this group, coming off such a let down performance in a huge game.

I hope we can scratch our way to 9-10 wins and the bubble, like we do every year

We played well with him out, but I'm ready for Kam to be back.   Patrick & Wainright have absolutely no value other than a body out there taking up space.

Stockard & Sallah are even worse so going small is hopefully the answer.

Patrick has played 91 of 400 min(22.8%)
last 10 games.  He has 3 3pt (3-13) and 7 rebounds. So his #1 strength has turned into 1 made 3 every 30 minutes he is on the court.

Wainright at times makes energy/hustle plays, but he's such a liability in the half court Offense.

oscar is going to need a real come to jesus moment to go small, based on the minutes Stockard/Love/Sallah has been playing lately. It makes no sense to play those guys the way they are playing when you can ostensibly get more than nothing playing another guard.

I like Wainright and think he's underutilized as an energy guy. He's also a unicorn on this roster as he appears legitimately interested in rebounding. probably doesn't need to play anymore.

I also feel like we've slowed the pace to a crawl over the last three games and our offensive output/efficiency has likewise drastically curtailed.

I imagine the pace is slowing mainly because our guys are just getting worn out. The absolutely terrible depth on this team is killing the starters.

Georgia was slow paced, but they are one of the slowest teams in the country and controlled pace.

KU was a fairly normal paced game at 67 possessions.

WVU was slower than I expected at only 63. A lot of that seemed to be because we'd break the press, but not attack it, then we'd hoist up some late shot clock shot and miss.
