7 - 11,

We get swept by KU, OSU, and ISU.  We can't compete with those teams.  We sweep TCU and Tech, they can't compete with us.  We can beat WVU at our place, but our young team cannot win there.

We get better as the year goes on, which allows us to win on the road at OU, then upset Baylor at home to finish the season.

01/04/14 vs. Oklahoma State  Loss
01/07/14 at TCU                   Win
01/11/14 at Kansas               Loss
01/14/14 vs. Oklahoma           Loss
01/18/14 vs. West Virginia      Win
01/21/14 at Texas                Loss
01/25/14 at Iowa State         Loss
01/28/14 vs. Texas Tech       Win
02/01/14 at West Virginia       Loss
02/08/14 vs. Texas               Loss
02/10/14 vs. Kansas              Loss
02/15/14 at Baylor                Loss
02/19/14 vs. TCU                  Win
02/22/14 at Oklahoma            Win
02/25/14 at Texas Tech         Win
03/01/14 vs. Iowa State         Loss
03/03/14 at Oklahoma State    Loss
03/08/14 vs. Baylor                Win

This but I think we'll lose one to Tech or TCU and win one against Iowa St.?
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I'd probably go with the window of 7-9 wins. A record of 8-10 seems most likely, we'll see how good Jevon is.

i don't think that will be good enough for the tourney.  would have to reach the big 12 semis right?

Probably not, likely need at least 10 total (including tournament) wins against Big 12 teams. That also likely means 3-4 more wins against Top 50 RPI teams and a win or two against RPI Top 25 teams. We'll hopefully have at least 2 Top 50 RPI wins in the OOC (Zaga, GW). To be on the right side of the bubble I think you need at least 5-6 Top 50 RPI wins without many bad losses. Fortunately No Colorado and Charlotte were early for us, both of which will likely be >100 RPI losses.

This OOC breakdown for each conference does give some hope that there will be fewer lower level conference at large teams and that the Big 12 will be the #1 or #2 conference going into the tournament.

You know, I was looking at kenpom and he is not too good at figuring out who the go purple cats should beat.  He says the zags are much better and that Charlotte and Northern Colorado are worse to much worse.  WTF ken?  Says Illinois is much better than Georgia Tech and yet we lost.  Advanced shmanced.  :buh-bye:

1. I'd like to see all of you repost your predictions after we lose to GW.

2. We'll have two wins against the top four teams, but we'll also lose a game or two to one of the crappy teams like Tech and TCU.

3. If we make the NIT or whatever it's called these days with this team, I'll stop hating oscar.

Do you think 8-10 gets us in the dance if the Big XII finishes as the #1 RPI conference?  I want to start getting my hopes up.

What I meant by this is I would like to see everyone post their conference record predictions after we lose to GW because right now I feel like everyone is inflating our number of wins since we just beat Gonzaga and people think they're good for some reason.

If we lose to GW I switch from my best case prediction which is posted to my worst case prediction which is 6 wins.  I will go back and forth between these two extremes.

I doubt 8-10 would get us in, especially with those losses to NoCol and Charlotte. They were early, but still.

No.  That team did more or less everything better than this team does, except that team fouled more, and had worse luck when other teams shot three pointers.  This team has much more in common with any number of Wooly's teams than it does with 08-09.

8-10 would be a good finish for this group.
