If we lose to Texas Tech tomorrow, I'm putting a "FOR SALE BY OWNER" sign in Klieman's yard first thing Sunday AM.

I read something about a month ago detailing The Eyes of Texas "controversy" at UT.

I think you could earnestly make the case that Herman's biggest driver in getting the axe was his handling of The Eyes of Texas, not going 6-3.

Brents has since announced his intention to transfer to EMAW-U:

Nice pick up. IIRC he has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

I think Campbell will go to the NFL before he takes another college job-- unless it is tOSU + Notre Dame. I don't think he would go to Michigan.

Kansas State Football / Re: Money spent on football recruiting

Well KU does no instate recruiting and ISU does very little. I do share your concern with the recruiting classes, I don't think that spending a ton of money is a silver bullet, as evidenced that KU and ISU recruit essentially the same as we do. I would like to see us hire a couple of more people on the recruiting staff.

This has been an issue forever.

It can't imagine that it's a huge financial burden to hire an additional 4 or 5 full-time recruiting staffers.

But, with this staff of losers, I don't think it would make a ton of difference.

Y'all hear about Mizzou and their scumbag coach scam Nashville and the University of Iowa out of having a bowl game? They had COVID issues with their last game, accepted a bow bid from the Music City Bowl, then didn't practice, they sent their players home after the regular season was over, then pulled out of the bowl three days before it was supposed to be played. They didn't tell the bowl they sent the kids home, so they sold tickets and employed people to work to prep the bowl, these people missing time with their families to prepare for a bowl that was never going to happen. They didn't tell Iowa either, so Iowa has been practicing this whole time, had to suspend workouts for three days last week, so for the back half of the week they couldn't go home nor hang out with their teammates. They came back to practice over the weekend only to find out that Missouri didn't practice and sent their players home.

rough ridin' brutal, he seems really smug about it too

He is such a rough ridin' dork.

But he's a dork that's recruiting entirely too well so far.

Can someone tell me how to feel about any of these transfers?

I think the DT is a quality pick up. The TE they were targeting would've been big time, but sounds like he is no longer an option. And the LB seems pretty meh to me, at a position we need way more than meh.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think Munoz is anywhere near an every down P5 linebacker.

I guess for as much as Klieman and Klandy like to rotate our linebackers, it probably makes sense to add some bodies that at least have experience playing college football rather than a walk-on RSJr linebacker from Hiawatha.

DY not having EMAW ties probably doesn't make his job easier.

It's pretty wild that KSO hasn't gotten around to replacing Hall.  He left like 7 months ago.

They replaced him with Derek and didn’t give him a title change and hired an intern, the Nubb owner isn’t going to invest any more dollars when no competition exists.
Well i'm about to IRL drop my sub to KSO and start subbing to GPC to see if it's any better.

It definitely isn't, we're stuck as a fan base right now. GPC and KSO has the same access, KSO has a ton more subscribers, so their boards are more active. Matt Hall leaving has really killed KSO's access. I thought their relationship with the basketball coaches, while problematic to the coverage, manifested itself in some nice ways. That access appears to be over with Hall out. They also hardly ever podcast anything but game recaps anymore which tells me they've lost some access or they've lost enough subscribers that they feel the need to keep everything behind a pay wall. GPC podcasts a ton outside of game recaps but it's really bad, nothing much fact based at all, just fitz and his young and cheap crew offering opinions.

This seems to be 100% true.

Also, Matt managed the message board and was much more of an engaging front man for the site.

KSO hasn't done anything creative #content wise since Matt left. He really drove that site.

Should we be tabbing BRAD KORN to replace Klieman???? :dunno:

we need to bring back BRAD KORN!

Finally got around to Midsommar. Pretty good if you like creepy and mumped up.

I watched this movie in theatres. Alone. Like I was the only person in the entire building I think outside of the theatre employees.

I think we will make it competitive. I could see Texas coming in beyond ready for this season to be done with and mailing it in.

I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to lace up for that clown Herman.

I watched the '98 highlight tape awhile back.

Two things that were painfully apparent:

1. We are lightyears away from having that kind of talent anywhere near our roster.

2. I am v v jealous of folks that got to attend dear ol' EMAW-U during that time. Can't imagine how much fun campus was during that season.

Carti was dressed in street clothes last night for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (oft referred to as Virginia Tech) in their matchup against in-state rival Virginia Military Institute.

He apparently didn't show up on time for his SARS-CoV-2 test so he had to ride the pine.

We continue to wish nothing best for Carti.

its no secret herman's seat is oh so toasty...and if we're being completely honest with ourselves, the outcome of the game tomorrow probably won't make any difference, and this is probably his last dance. The season has been in a freefall, and everyone in the program knows its time to move on. Since herman won't be comin around here no more, there is only one question we need ask ourselves: Is Tom petty? Would he intentionally throw a game just as a final eff you to UT? If the answer to that question is no...if he won't back down...then tomorrow's game will probably be a heartbreaker for the fans of the purples. I guess we'll just have to wait to see what happens...and that's the hardest part.

BIG stuff from BIG APPLE CAT right there. Really good work out of him right there on that.

thank you and happy belated

Thank YOU!

The last time I even thought of Gary Barnett was when I heard him probably a year or two ago on 810 with the slapdicks on the Border Patrol.

I guess he had a weekly segment on there or something. Kind of weird that he would have a spot on the radio in KC.

But whatever.

Still does, he's a Mizzou grad.

Well I'll be a suck egg mule! Didn't realize that.

Hard to say. Prior to Herman at UT, I wouldn't think that fanbase would go that low. However, they've now had over a decade of frustration and a real string of head scratching losses by multiple coaches. They may just be willing to run a dirty program for a bit to get back on top.

Every fan base should be willing to do that. Also, Urb has never gotten his program on probation IIRC. I guess what I’m saying is there is a difference between being a scumbag and running a dirty program.
