What a crap list.  All of these songs are crap except No. 8 and No. 9.

I'm surprised they let you post on this blog.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

My god your explanation for 5 is asinine. No one had used backup vocals as instruments before? Lots of bands want to mush your face right now for saying that.

No offense, IRL friend

Not the way they did. Three guys singing different lines at the same time? Two doing one line over and over while the lead vocalist sings lines on top of it? No way. Hell, give me one example pre-TBS if it was so prominent.

Not sure if you just meant in "alternative" music (whatever that means) or in general but Queen and lots of Motown disagree, just off the top of my head.

At like 2 and a half minutes in you have two lead vocal lines and backup vocalists.

Let me rephrase my statement: No one had used vocals like TBS did in another GOOD song.

You should just count your losses on this one Stevesie. Probably lots of mushing in your future if you don't.

You know what I mean though, right? TBS did it every song on that album. All the ones you're posting are one from each band, like they did it as a weird thing to do on a song. Look at the alternative albums that came out after "Tell All Your Friends". Everyone started doing it after that. I probably exaggerated by saying they were the first. I mean, no one's ever really the first to do anything. But they mastered it in a way that was appealing enough that everyone else started doing it.

IIRC, this is Stevesie's long awaited top 10 list. If anyone is gonna get mushed in this thread, it's going to be people not named Stevesie.

I guess. Although I'd argue that Blink was doing a fair bit of it on Dude Ranch and Enema of the State too. I think I mostly just hate that "bubblegum-punk" (emo? :dunno:) genre in general.

What a crap list.  All of these songs are crap except No. 8 and No. 9.

Sorry you're like, 45 and don't know good music, bro.

Should have just called it "Songs I like from H.S. and college with a couple of others thrown in."   Woof.

JK, I like all of the songs.  The only one I really don't like is the Something Corporate song, but I agree it spawned a ton of similar sounding stuff (most of which I also don't like). Good list.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Why do you guys depend on this guy and MC for music? They're both hipsters (no offense guys), they don't know what they're talking about. :dunno:
