Cf3 needs to apologize.

Actually he validated my point because he took a pitch outside the zone, forced Perkins to throw a strike and hit it. The hit was on a hitable pitch.
Or someone accidentally oops and finally threw him one over the plate and he took advantage. That happens to.

Yes Wacky but if he waits for that every at bat, he walks twice earlier in the game instead of striking out. Just to be clear, are you arguing that its an ok strategy for Hosmer to chase pitches outside the strikezone?
Of course not. However, his average is balanced out through the season with the good and the bad. He was way more patient before his break. He was making traction. Timing is going to be off a bit and old habits might fade back when out for awhile.

What would Ned Yost be if he wasn't (for the time being) a major league baseball manager?   :dunno:

Wacky. Stop. Quit excusing his crap game tonight. He has to quit swinging at crap pitches or he'll never be anything special. Opposite field slap singles don't exactly cut it for an AL 1st baseman.

Employed at walmart, maybe. Department manager? No. I don't think Ned can manage anything, at least not on a consistent basis. (That said, maybe Glass would find him some kind of phoney management job at his beloved w-mart. Dayton could be his boss. Double addition by subtraction for the Royals).

Quote from: Cartierfor3
Getting a hit on a bad pitch does not justify swinging at them. Eric swings at junk pitches constantly. Inevitably he'll get some hits on bad pitches.

This is so true, unfortunately this is clearly an organizational flaw. Tonight's game (besides the terrible offense and silly errors, it was a beautiful night to be at the K) was a prefect example. Minnesota is not a good team, but their patience at the plate helped them fall into a few runs (though they should've scored 5 or 6 minimum). Meanwhile the Royals swing at everything philosophy barely generated run scoring opportunities until it was too late, like many of the other numerous 1 run losses. :sigh:

Bartolo Colon, Aj Burnett, John Lackey and Andrew Miller?  Does this mean Vargas isn't recovering well?

Sniffing around pitchers when we need a bat. Classic Dayton.

Got that, I'm just trying to figure out what that has to do with Vargas, especially since Miller is a reliever

why doesn't dyson start? we all know the cain, dyson, gordon outfield is the best set up.

the royals are 0.582 in games he has appeared in (on D, best stats I could find) and 0.505 overall or 0.368 without him...

and yes i have an obsession with dyson.

The royals only had 10k free t shirts for a crowd of 33k last night. People are complaining about it. Seriously. Can we maybe be a little less herp derpy as a city? Good grief. Oh, and everyone who wears a free T Shirt Tuesday Shirt looks like a complete slob.
