The fake argue with tang only to drop a perfect alley oop from mid court with 1 min left in a tied game in overtime.... WOW

I just remember chest bumping my bros as we are all screaming WTF just happened. Just pure pandemonium when it happened.

And that was just the icing on the cake from a great game by nowell.

Here’s the thing, these people have a lot of the most valuable resource on the planet, time. It’s not an industrial efficiency issue. They work 24/7/365. And the irl last thing they want is someone taking something from that.

So they are bored and would rather drive out to a pasture to check on the cows than fly over them with a drone?

3
Also made me think of when I was hunting a WIHA honey hole a couple of miles from the cat ranch on opening weekend and saw a small plane circling over me a while back.

When I was leaving an older gentleman with a poney tail pulled up next to me and let me know he was watching me and thanked me for staying on the WIHA land and not going onto his adjacent 200 acres of CRP that is absolutely loaded with pheasants (all the birds I flushed would fly directly into his land) and no hunting signs. He explained that he was "re wilding" his land etc.

I've seen him a couple of times since then either flying over or just driving by.

I bet he would love the crap out of a drone.

I believe I asked earlier about the feasibility of using drones to check on cattle and some peeps responded that you must be in visible contact with the drone to operate legally....

But honestly if you are in BFE and just running it within 5-10 miles ish if the main farm I would imagine your chances of getting in trouble are pretty small?

No idea but I'm definitely interested in the capabilities even if I will never utilize them.

I also assume they would be helpful in flying over row crops to inspect them etc.

I watched the new roadhouse on prime last night. It was a solid 5.5/7 if you suspend all belief of an actual roadhouse type bar with chicken wire protecting the band in the Florida keys. Nothing great but a solid action flick even tho Connor McGregors character was a little over the top and unnecessary.

Still not as good as the OG roadhouse with swayze.

I will be letting my son play tackle starting in the fall...and he will be in 4th grade.  Wife and I were on the fence on this for quite some time for the obvious reasons.

Ultimately, we made our decision to let him play tackle due to the fact we are convinced he will get hurt playing flag.  He has played flag for KCFC for 4 years now.  Last year we played in the top division, and it was super competitive.  There were multiple moments I thought we were going to see a mid-air head bang as the kids were going after a pass.

My son also plays RB...and he is very athletic at this point in his life.  There were times kids would attempt to tackle and would get more aggressive than they should because of the level of difficulty he presented when going after his flag.  Many of the injuries he sustained playing flag were due to collisions happening trying to bring him down.  He would get a knee to the hip or thigh for example.

We are moving to tackle in hopes that the pads protect him a bit more.  At this age they at least don't hit each other hard.

That being said, I don't think every kid is ready.  My son is big-boned.  Some of his friends are super tiny and I would not be comfortable letting them play tackle if they were my kids.

Also - KCFC has weight limits on ball carriers.  That also gives me comfort that these kids aren't trying to tackle a kid who hit a growth spurt at an early age.  If they are too heavy, they are required to be on the line.

Thanks. Its one of those things where starting them early and teaching the fundamentals is good, but also opens them up to more head shots at an early age so I see both sides. I LOL at the weight limit thing. When I was a kid they had those too and it was very obvious that A)it was a self reported thing and B)if they did weigh the kids, one or two teams in my pee wee league starved the kids over the summer so they could hit weight at the beginning of the year. Every year it was terrifying playing them. This dude was a monster RB and just smoked us all.

KCFC is pretty strict on weight limits.  Anthony Sherman took his kid's team to tackle starting last year, and decided not to do the KCFC league because of the weight limit.  I think they play on the Missouri side somewhere.  I've also heard he is running the Oklahoma drill with these kids....which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. That is Sherman in a nutshell and his group of kids go all out for bball and baseball.  They are peaking early and will get burned out before high school.

Our coaching staff is going to be extremely anal about fundamentals.  You would think every team would think this way...but I honestly have no idea and I don't trust most people who are so adamant about tackle at this age.

We play through MYFL in Nebraska and it is very strict on weight as well. Definitely not self reported. We have a designated weigh in day and have to have the whole team show up and get in line for weight. Then "stripers" are assigned to kids over the weight and they can only play on the line of scrimmage and can't carry the ball. Called striper because there is a stripe around their helmet. Our team didn't have a single striper last year. Most teams had a handful. Gave us fits on the interior line but ultimately we kicked most of their asses anyway. I think striper weight in 5th grade was 130 lbs+.

We used to call them fat patches when I played out at heritage park back in the day. Definitely needed though. You don't need the 5-9 160lb'er who has a beard running over some 5'0 100lb 7th grader whose balls have not dropped yet.

IIRC we also had a "Heavyweight" and "Lightweight" division in grades 5-7ish.

I think Toney will be back next year if only as a kick returner and #5 WRish.

Hollywood will get close to 1k yards, really interested to see how he fits in with Rice. I think we rest Kelce more during the season so those extra yards can go to brown/rice.

Reid strikes me as a Snyder type that is going to keep coaching until he physically can't anymore or he gets sent to the old folks home. The only reason he would retire after next year is if there is some behind the scenes health stuff going on.

Who brews the tallgrass beers now? I used to love the 8 bit beer which doesn't taste as good as I remembered but I do love their Tight Rope IPA. (All purchased in KC)

Last I knew tallgrass went out of business 5ish years ago but in the past couple of years they have been trickling back into KC.

Obama visited the royals this week and escorted kate back to a secret layer underneath a pizza place in DC.

In the next couple of days a new group text will pop up.....I'm pretty sure its because they are olds now and their phones are so cluttered with notifications they get confused. My mom was getting blown up with 10+ notifications an hour from random things so I had to go through and turn all the notifications off for these randome "Allow Notifications" buttons she had pushed on random sites.

12
My parents have an adorable habit of accidentally leaving the family group text chat, getting confused and starting a new one. Happens a couple of times a year. Here you can see where my mom left and my dad didn't realize, posting a picture of him almost winning a fortnite match then realizing it and leaving too.

pretty normal, he was with his wife (in ku gear) and we exchanged pleasantries for a minute or so before they left to where they were originally going and then i thought i saw MIR giving me the finger from across the way.

Ran into our old friend fanning at p&l before the game Thursday and as he was walking away someone who looked like MIR with a beard was smiling at me giving me a middle finger.

I went over to say hello, realized it wasn't MIR right as I walked up when his friends who were behind me walked up at the same time...it was an awkward "hey, sorry, wasn't flipping you off" while I was like "hey sorry, thought you were someone else"

16
75% flood Aggie in P&L right now, just talked to a 40 year old flood Aggie who sold his percentage of the family farmland to be able to make the trip with his 3 kids (divorced, wife left him for a preacher on TV).

The kids were asking if they could eat something before the game but he just kept buying Busch lites.

i’ve been doing the same thing with my weekends- I finally got all of the straggler leaves out of the beds.  my neighbors on each side kinda suck at this stuff so I just went onto their property and got the leaves I needed to get gone from there too.

last week I cut down all off the long grass plant things (4 of them). I guess they regrow every year but you need to trim them to little stubs.

tomorrow i’m getting my new EarthWay 2600A spreader delivered which i’ll use this weekend to put down the scotts max crabgrass preventer that’s on sale for $15 off right now at costco.  pretty hyped about this spreader tbh.

last october I planted 100 tulip bulbs and 50 hyacinth bulbs and i’m really excited to be celebrating the fruits of that labor right now as those bitches are popping up everywhere.

yet to be seen- the hydrangeas I planted last fall.  it’s not been seen since november.  fingers rough ridin' crossed.

Sooooo.....are any of your tulips coming up and about to bloom?

In regards to the NINE new cat contractors we brought on last month (feral cats caught in local town) we have caught 6 of them on the game cam located in their home aka the garage. My dad even set up a heat lamp and box with blankets for them to stay in

Where are you getting those cats?  In the alley behind the B-Hive?

Just seeing this and I'm not sure but I have definitely ate/drank coors at the B-Hive between 5-10 times. Its an experience I enjoy every time.

Farming is not something you can just do with no equipment capital. You also can’t just cut into your RAZER sharp margins by paying other people to do it for you because you own land (other than leasing said land). The only times you can is when you can plant and take care of thousands of acres and just have someone cut it for you. Your dad is adorable and I love him but lease that crap out immediately.

PS. barn lease for alfalfa bales is lmao

I’ve got something in high demand around here....an old vacant barn

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DAMNIT! We’ve got no covered place to store our alfalfa bales! What if we were to PAY some guy who lives miles away to store them there and when we need them we drive our asses all the way over there and get some and drive back here! Holy crap.....are you sure you aren’t some farm genius? Yes, I actually am irl.

I'm reworking my way through this thread and ben ji's dad says YOLO as he made his dream come true with a barn full of bales.

Put down some gravel! Sheesh.
Lol, i have a story about my brother and I's naive ideas about how to fill these ruts. Gonna have to wait until sunlight tomorrow to show our futility.
Following up on this. Im guessing the last time the roads inside the cat ranch had rock dumped on them was around 1990.

There was a "road" by the corral that was used to dump feed to the cows but is no longer in use. Still a ton of stone/rocks out there and part of our golf course.

My brother and I decided to be productive and collect a bunch of those rocks by hand, fill up a large cattle feed container and dump them on the road to fix the ruts, good idea huh?!?

Spent about 45 minutes picking up rocks by hand to fill the container and dumped it in a large rut.

Results were not what we were expecting
If I remember, the cat ranch is in far NW KS.  If so, your closest source for decent crushed gravel is probably going to be Eastern Colorado (Holly).  Good news is that this is crushed river gravel and very durable.  Bad news is freight costs are going to suck.  I think there are some sand sources around the area, but it won't be crushed material and won't stabilize the road for crap.  If someone has some crushed concrete around the area, that could be an option as well.  However, just know that there will still be some pieces of steel in the material and you will need to cover it with an inch or two of some other material to help eliminate flat tires.  I have it on my driveway and I covered it with crushed asphalt.  We still find a few small pieces of wire from time to time that we pick up and throw away.

The aggregate source info is from my experience many years ago travelling around the state making and laying asphalt for highway projects.  There may be a new source or two that have popped up since then that I'm not aware of.  If you can find a material source and you have access to a skidloader, you could probably heal up the ruts and then have someone tailgate the rock on the drive.  This isn't ideal, but it will be cheaper than hiring someone to haul a blade to the ranch and grading the road.

My guess is that you are going to pay at least $10 per ton at the source and then freight to the ranch on top of that. If you have 500 feet of driveway that is 12 feet wide and you want to place 3" of rock on it, you would be looking at about 100 to 125 tons of rock.

BUMP...Are asphalt millings a good choice for a road/driveway?

Why wouldn't they just say she's dead?
She has been kidnapped and is currently being held by Palestinian terrorists underneath a pizza place in DC.

It's a very delicate situation.

Got my first birdie of the year and it was pretty lol.

380 yard par 4 with a hill in the middle. I hit a decent drive uphill that went just over the top of the hill under a tree in the rough, probably about 200 yards.

I pull up and it's about 185 to the pin but I can't get any loft since I have a tree above me so I decided to YOLO with a 5 iron punch out shot.

Hit it perfectly and it landed about 30 yards in front of the green before rolling up about 4 ft from the pin.

Nailed the put

Can someone ELI5 what is going on here?
The princess(?) of the UK has not made a public appearance since Christmas. About a month ago the PR team announced she was undergoing "abdominal surgery". Supposedly her husband, the future king has only visited a couple of times.

Mother's Day in the UK was a couple of days ago and she posted an obviously photoshopped picture of her and the kids.

Everyone says "yo this is totes photoshopped from different pictures"...she supposedly responds by saying she was playing around with Photoshop by herself to make the pics look better.

Also there is some sort of ai generated picture of her riding in the car on some estate while she was recovering where the car had 5 tires.

It's pretty LOL

Despite caring absolutely zero about the royal family (#1776) I am totally invested in all the random conspiracy theories because of how bad their pr team botched this.

Was her surgery for cancer?

Did will beat her up bad?

Are they getting a divorce?

Stay tuned to find out!
