I'm not sure when it was installed, but I'd guess it was the original. Of course, there was a grass playing surface for the first few seasons.

By the mid-80's the end-zones & cat head had been re-painted so many times they were literally like slick concrete.

When I was a young FD at a KSU football camp, I was told by late-80s EMAW longsnapper Matt Hemphill that their defensive strategy against Oklahoma was to let them get to midfield so the RBs would slip and fall when they tried to cut.

vs texas '06 is on ESPN classic right now. that freeman/jordy/figurs combo was sexy. they just ran a nice drag route to figurs and i realized i feel like we don't run that much in snyder's system, and i miss it.

As many have said 29-28 was a great night. This vid with Smashing Pumpkins Tonight Tonight was always my fave non-fatty ksu fball vid. Apparently youtube removed the music track, but you can just play them side by side and its timed perfectly.
