Yeah, that's why they fired their defensive coordinator.

@zach_barnett: Unbelievably, Texas Tech has now lost the turnover battle in 12 straight games. 31 giveaways, 12 takeaways.

Texas Tech may have made a pretty lousy hire.

Contract extension a bit premature, too?

Kliff will be like Rick Neuheisel. Hired as a pretty boy stud...but, in the end, not a good NCAA head FB coach. Embarassed that I even had to make this point.

Moments such as kim's post make me want to believe I can lay claim to moving a small notch above $hitty poster status....but then I realize that I'm still am a $hitty poster and another persons garbage doesn't make mine any better.

There was plenty of substance, kim is saying that it is way too early to act like hiring him was a mistake especially given he took that team to a bowl last year. You guys forget the circumstance in which he took this job? Tubs quit during a recruiting dinner. Klif has had one recruiting season and he landed the 5th best class in the conference.

I think Kliff was/is going to be a good head coach, but I think he was hired a little too early.  I'm unsure how big of a network he had to get good assistants that he trusted.

I think a few more years with Sumlin, or better yet, going to another program and coach, would have benefited him.
