As an Illini fan, that's what I thought whenever Keady would make excuses for Weber.  It's kind of pathetic, like having your Dad stick up for you when you can't do it yourself.

God I am going to hate life whenever I think back on this day in history.  It is un-rough ridin'-believable the way this all transpired.  To think I actually woke up this morning full of optimism about the coaching search.

I have to admit, and I was a young lad when Lon manned the backcourt, and I was surprised to learn that Gene Keady had any connection to KState basketball.

I figure Schultz and Currie heard some of the WTF's expressed over the Weber hire, looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders, and oscar said, "Ask Gene Keady to vouch for me, I started under him and I think he might have gone to KState."

So they tossed Keady a few free passes to Colbert Hills and he vomits out a few words of praise and presto-chango!
