We don't need 4 power right arms in the pen

link?

Ok let me rephrase that. Given the option of 4 power right arms in the pen, and no one to play RF or DH, or 3 power right arms and a player to play RF or DH, I'd take the later option.

What about 4 power right arms and Aoki to play right field?

what about we totally scrap the idea of a starting pitching and just have an entire staff of right handed power guys that throw 1-2 innings every other night?  :dunno:

I mean, I guess that's ok but I'd want someone better who hits from the right side in our lineup. If we resign Aoki, and just go with that roster, then not picking up Billy's option is going to start looking really dumb.

Yeah. I'm not anti-trade, but they had better get somebody pretty good.

Wrote in the column today that KC remains engaged in talks with Melky Cabrera. Need SP, OFer type;probably have room for one pricey signing.

Hunter signed with the twins, so that's no longer an option.

I see Hoch was signed.

 :Woot:

he cost a lot more than i thought he would, though.  pretty much everyone that has signed has been for more than i thought.  baseball players make a lot of money.

We should use Vargas as our DH, guy is a beast at the plate.

I'm ok with this, move Davis to the closer and herrera as the set up man, hopefully hochevar and others can fill in the 7th inning role

i heard someone talking about the rockies catcher, who apparently is really bad at catching, but good at hitting powerfully.  the talker seemed to think the rockies would trade him.  the royals should trade for him and make him the dh/backup catcher.

check the home/road splits on any Rockies player.

the royals are going to make some noise at this year's winter meetings (probably not though, but hopefully they do)

Side note: If the Rockies are trying to trade Wilin Rosario I think he could be an interesting DH option. He had a down year so he might come cheaper than he should, but he's a RH power bat who could catch in a pinch.

So it looks like the ChiSox are the clear favorites in the AL Central now.
