Should have at least a thousand emails by Monday

This week we have
Nick Wright Albuquerque Journal
Parrish Alford Daily Journal out of Tupelo, MS
Tom Murphy Arkansas Democrat Gazette

2
Gary Barnett.  I think he has several good years left and a thing or two up his sleeve.

I easily could have talked myself into Barnett after Prince got canned.  He's too old now and has been out of coaching for too long though.

Would take Bo Pelini.

Pelini is coaching it up at Youngstown State in Ohio.

I think the issues were not have been even reported if Pelini won in Lincoln but because he won only on average 10 games a season for 7 seasons they used the issues to fire him.

Pelini for sure should get another chance.

Bamba looks huge. I guess he has a 7'4 wing span

So West Virgina being West Virgina continues to amaze the country with the amount of racism out of their state

I live in Tulsa and have not heard of this SEC Boycott. ??

I agree with the Colorado bit. TaM probably wishes they were back in the Big XII because not being in makes them a bit irrelevant in TX. Aggies imo always strive to want to feel relevant. They really arent.

Going to the SEC has clearly worked out for Misseri.

Then I guess you should pass the word around

The Big XII is the conference of outlaws.
The conference that won't bend over for anyone.
The Big XII needs this mantra when they play out of conference.
Study the history of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. You will see nothing but outlaws who did things their own way.
No one is going to destroy the Big XII except the schools within the conference if they allow the current narrative outside of the conference to be considered the truth.

I think college football is pretty disgusting for doing things like exploiting students and raking in obscene amounts of money for basically no good reason.

At the same time, if Texas people can sell the idea of a capitalist conference to another big time program or two and help the conference thrive, I'm all for it.

The Big XII is the living history of two amazing conferences Big 8/SWC.
For me that is important because half my family are CU fans and the other half UT fans.
If the Big XII falls apart so does the SWC and Big 8. This is why UT does not want to leave and for schools like K State UT and OU leaving could cause problems that never can be corrected.

That is why I have the utmost respect for CU because you never hear the garbage out of Boulder you hear out of Lincoln. They will not claim UT ran them off. CU left because it was what the state wanted but more so it was the best thing for the university. UNL, Mizzou and Aggy ran away from their history so they could get more money. They blamed UT as a scapegoat. The truth was the Big XII even with a conference network could not give either university the same amount as the other conferences. They need someone to blame.

Possibilities
USC
Clemson
Florida St
Miami
LSU

Its a nice Christmas wish list - but what would make the Big 12 attractive to any of those to pull them?

The Big XII model is like capitalism
The SEC/ BIG model is like collectivism

Capitalism because it rewards the universities who win and have the best resources will ultimately win.

For a team like let's says SC. The PAC 12 keeps USC revenue at a certain level once Texas revenue jumps to over a 30 million gap between themselves and Ohio St you will see Texas doing things that will force other universities to either leave for the Big XII or force other conferences to adjust their conference to be more like the Big XII.

Texas is coyote ugly for most power 5 schools looking to join big 12.  It would be easier for Texas to join another conference or go independent.

What Texas has is the biggest attraction that other schools have to the Big XII

The conference doesn't need welfare universities

The conference needs universities who want to keep their third tier rights so they could earn more money than in the other conferences

Possibilities
USC
Clemson
Florida St
Miami
LSU

I watched a bunch of the tennessee game Saturday because the KSU game didn't happen for like 3 hours after it was supposed to.

The movement should be to dome BSFS.  How many games during a KSU football season do you think "man, what perfect weather to be standing (sitting during the anthem at least) in one spot for almost 4 hours?"  September games, you get sunburnt.  November games, you get cold and wet.  Maybe one in October if you don't get electrocuted?

Over West Virgina/Texas Tech.

The issue for the Big XII is the conference needs to start preparing itself for the next TV contract.

There is a chance that in 2025 the Big XII will either adds big schools from the ACC or the Big XII breaks up.

Because of the illegal recruiting practices of SEC universities in Texas
Not to mention SEC's personal network biasism  towards the Big XII

A lot of Texas and Oklahoma will refuse to watch SEC football or anytype of SEC programming.

Someone needs to end SEC influence in Big XII territory.
It is us against the world it seems

Is this CaliforniaLonghorn guy just jealous of Alabama?

Why would anyone be jealous of one of the poorest states in the US

Here is an joke best told in a Eastern Tennessee accent . Why do you think the Tennessee River enters Alabama and turns right back around into Tennessee.

When I lived in Texas all the people that would come over from Alabama made people from Arkansas seem sophisticated and cultured.

UT and Bama have had a lot of history. Both schools were once in the same conference the SIAA.
For a long time Bama had never beaten UT. Bear Bryant retired winless against the Longhorns.
The twisted hillbilly mind of all the fine people of North Alabama grew up hating UT because they could not beat the Longhorns.

When 2010 National Championship game comes around and a better UT team loses to Bama because of McCoy's injury caused by Suh in the Big XII championship game. Bama thought they had overcome UT. Next thing you know Bama is using Gene Stallings to pull in Aggy and acting like they are the biggest baddest dog in the South and Southwest.

UT/Bama is like UT/Nebraska times 1000 if you ask me

I think K State and LHC LHC Bill Snyder understand the situation

K State plays UT still. Like OU K State can get the best players out of Texas if Texas remains exclusively Big XII territory.

You can't have too many hands in your bank.
Some hands will be forced out.
thanks Kelsey

Did you hear what Bob Stoops said about Arkansas.

Bama's plan could fall flat on its face if Aggy and Mizzou returns along with Arkansas and LSU.

http://www.thv11.com/mobile/article/sports/bob-stoops-says-razorbacks-would-be-excellent-for-big-12-conference/482805394

LSU is very tired of Bama exploiting their state for talent. Coach O has been attempting to force Bama out of their state.

Why is this important for K State to know

Because Texas has a SEC school now in state

Aggy is too stuck up the SEC's ass to realize what Bama is trying to do.

If Bama has their way Bama gets the top players out of Texas
Aggy gets the next tier with other SEC schools  and then UT and the rest of the Big XII gets the rest

This is the most boring sock ever.

Then you must not understand how Bama operates then

Bama uses their image as the Pride of Southern Football to get players from the rest of the SEC.

At least with UT UT doesn't want your money or your players.
Bama wants your players and money. Truthfully I say Bama is the biggest cancer in college football.
UT just wants their Texas money and Texas players.

first alabama should be its own country, their fans are the worst in sport

take the $100M from texas and either win or don't, at this point in his career it doesn't matter.  they'll buy you out or they'll celebrate you, wgaf at this point, but take the $100M

not a tough calculus

True fact about Bama
It a school created by carpetbaggers who went to Birmingham after the Civil War to industrialize North Alabama.
Reason why Alabama became the premier program in the South. In the early 20th century Birmingham was the only city industrialized and Mississippi River trade not being as important made New Orleans and Memphis less important cities.

University of Alabama is a small part of the North in the SEC. Even more than Mizzou.

Bama fans are not that terrible. They just have this issue about football being more important than anything else in the world. They would be happy living in a trailer just as long as Bama was winning a football game.

It is a long and sordid tale that this blog frankly does not have the time to recount.

I already know your narrative.
You can create a narrative but not everyone will believe it. That is the issue with having to use a narrative to explain a situation.
You do not see people connected with UT acting like we didn't want Nick Saban.
We offered the job to Saban but Saban would rather be somewhere that his name was already established.
Plus like Patterson he used UT like Patterson used K State to get a better deal at their current school
I think he just didn't want to deal with people like you that are most commonly associated with texas

the fact that he chose bama over ut doesn't help your argument

I would have stayed at Bama if I was Saban.
Look at Bielema at Arkansas.
Arkansas was expecting 10 win seasons but sometimes a coach inherits a bad situation that takes time to fix.
If Saban didn't win a NC his first three years at UT he would have been fired. Saban can stay at Bama and never win a championship until he wants to retire.

Bama is a much easier job than Texas because once you win there they love you forever

The cockroaches need to be put back in their place this week.
Perfect team for them to play.

TCU is such an insecure university they claim a National Championship that no one outside of Ft Worth recognizes
To make matters even worse the championship they claim came in a season, 1935, they did not even win the SWC.

I am sure K State fans have respect for Gary Patterson. I do as well as he is a great coach and defensive mastermind.
If K State can hold like they did against UT Delton will tear them apart.
Kenny Hill will self destruct with any pressure and a few interceptions.
I am hoping K State will make him want to transfer again.

I say K State 24 TCU 20

Gary Patterson went here dude, he is KSU alum...

I don't think so buddy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Patterson

I must surprise you everyday with my knowledge huh meow meow?

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Gary Patterson turn down K State after Bill Synder left the first time

We turned him down

Did you learn that from a Nebraska fan
Today I witnessed how manipulative Nebraksa is about maintaining their image of a power program.
According to a Nub Scott Frost will only be offered the job if he would accept the Nebraska job

They are already creating the narrative out of Lincoln for when Frost turns them down to stay at a commuter achool

No I learned it from reality.

You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time

I guess that narrative creates an idea in your head that K State is too good of a job for Patterson but actually reality proves different

OP must be old af since nobody under 60 calls them the cockroaches.

Yet you have heard about the cockroaches.

The term was modernized when TCU joined the conference.
Once a cockroach always a cockroach.

There was a big push by the UT media for the 2014 UT team to play the role of cockroaches but the cockroaches proved who are the real cockroaches are and cockroached UT's cockroach plan.

I really thought there was a massive cockroach problem happening in Manhattan that I was unaware of

I already called the ortho man and I don’t even live in Manhattan....

He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!

Someone needs to show that upstart program out of Fort Worth who runs things in the Big XII

They are starting to think they are the football, baseball and with Jamie Dixon the basketball power around here.
At least they actually win unlike Aggy but still they need to be in the conference for 20 years before they start swinging their dick

I think Bielema may have a $15M buy out.

$15M

He is finished in Fayetteville.
He may be one of five coaches fired in the SEC during the season or after.
