Don't really get the Duda signing.  If we're going to rebuild then let's go all in.  Why sign an aging first baseman when you could be giving those opportunities to younger guys?  I mean, the goal here SHOULD be to lose as many games as possible while developing young talent.

Dozier?

Seems like a decent idea. Duda gives us a lefty and you can work Dozier in (platoon righty/lefty?) for a year.

The duda and esky signings are fine for the long term future but I'm starting to think this team resembles the 2006 Royals*.

*went and looked up that team just now. wow. won't be as bad as that my dear heavens

Yea I guess I’m just not high on dozier outside of his ability to take over the resident beefcake role from Alex Gordon in a few years.

It is extremely unlikely that Duda will be part of our long-term rebuild. I would be surprised if he's even part of next year's team.  So what's the point in signing him?  A living piece of nostalgia from our Series?  Just seems pretty pointless.

Meaning they won’t hurt us long term.

They want to sell as many tickets as possible while not hurting themselves long-term.

Maybe so.  But, I just don't see Lucas Duda moving significantly more tickets for a rebuilding franchise that should be sitting at the bottom of the league all year.  Who knows, maybe he'll smash Moose's record by August and everyone will flock to the stadium for a historic September.

Duda is fine.  We didn't tie up any long term money and we got a guy that we can bench if someone develops, but play if someone is going to be embarrassing themselves daily.

I think it’s safe to aay the royals are ok with letting players (Alex Gordon, Escobar) embarrass themselves daily

It is interesting, because he'll still be covering the Royals. They must be doing coverage for each team now?

Looks like you get all of the content.  I think it's just divided so you can follow more easily.

another relatively cheap player, a lefty, a lead off hitter, good club house guy, good signing
