Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / The K-State HC Job
« on: March 29, 2021, 12:19:40 PM »
Discussing the Texas HC opening, and a random mention of Michigan moving to 6th place in Elite 8 appearances got me thinking.

I know there's a significant amount of other factors like current state of the program, facilities, etc.... but from a historical perspective, K-State ranks up there.

20th in NCAA tourney Bids (4th in B12)
14th in Sweet 16's (2nd in B12)
10th in Elite 8's (2nd in B12)
22nd in Final 4's (4th in B12, 1 appearance from 15th Nationally and 3rd in B12)
3rd in B12 in Dr. Peppers. (I included every current school in every conference they've played in)

Would love to be able to renovate Bramlage soon, or at least announce the plans. But either way, it will be a damn good job opening soon, maybe very soon.

Kansas State Football / What's your K-State FB outlook?
« on: February 17, 2021, 11:14:57 AM »
Tell me how you feel about the future under Klieman? We're going into his 3rd season.

I just had a conversation about how going into year 3 w/ Ron, it felt like everyone knew he was going to fail. Just a lot of negativity. He started 12-9, then lost 4 in a row to miss a bowl by a game in year 2, but it felt bad. The second half of year 3 was a crap show and ended him. Also, Klieman got embarrassed the last half of this season, and they have been open about how there are/were lockerroom issues, etc., but it seems people are way more positive on him.

Obviously Kli is a much more likable personality, so that helps. Is it all around Skylar? (thinking it's a different 2020 season if he stays healthy? etc...)

But anyway, what is your outlook for the future under Coach Klieman? What kind of improvement do you need to see this year?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Blue Bloods
« on: April 02, 2019, 08:54:58 AM »
Another year down, so it's time to discuss who the blue bloods are again.

Obvious choices?
UCLA: 11 titles
Kentucky: 8 titles
North Carolina: 6 titles
Duke: 5 titles

On the edge?
Villanova: 3 titles, 2 in the last 5 years.
UCONN: 4 titles in the last 20 years.
Indiana: 5 titles, 0 in the last 25 years.

Not close, but could be taken seriously if they can win 1 or 2 titles soon:
Louisville: 3 nattys, 1 in the last 25 years.
Kansas: 3 nattys, 1 in the last 30 years.

Thoughts?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Big 12 Arenas
« on: February 13, 2019, 12:31:57 PM »
ITT we will talk about Big 12 arenas. Fav's? New 'nas being built? Best environments.

K-State: Very meh, but v. good for big games. Renovation in the pipe? 5-10 years out? Earlier? I'm interested to see rendos
KU: LOL, needs millions and millions in renos.
Iowa St: Smells absolutely terrible. Good-ish environment for big games.
OU: Holy crap it's bad. But they do real flames during entros, p. cool
OSU: Trash. Great history, but the renovation sucks crap. Don't sit higher than 5th row or you'll get sick from all the empty orange seats.
TCU: New renovation, but still meh. Also hate their really bright court.
BU: Currently place blows ass. New arena coming soon, rendos have me intrigued. Could be a cool place.
UT: Currently place blows ass. New arena coming soon as well. Could be a cool place too.
TTU: Decent arena, way too big? Terrible environment. Only decent when team is like the best in the world (never)
WVU: Pretty stale place, but decent old arena? V. good when they're v. good

Post pics of what you like/hate in here.

Kansas State Football / Snyder's Contract
« on: November 17, 2017, 11:38:58 AM »
Can someone dig into it and see when it ends? For some reason I thought it was a rolling contract that just kind of renewed every year. But maybe it has to be agreed on by both parties?

But all I can find is that it expires in January, which would go with Leavitt being the head coach by January of 18 in that hand shake deal, but now means he needs to sign an extension/agree to another year or something needs to be put in place asap, right?

Base compensation

    2017 guaranteed pay: $3,150,000
    Total contract pay: $14,750,000
    Contract length: 5 years
    Start date: 2/1/2013
    Expires: 1/31/2018*

Is this accurate?
