What's crazy is that Jake was starting to appear on Heisman lists the week before the TCU game. They don't mention you there if you are subpar that late in the season. You reverse the outcome of the TCU game and we are in the top 3 and Jake is in the top 3 for Heisman. Crazy what one bad performance can do to a team and one player's rep.

Yes yard dog, excellent point that when you get your dick kicked out the back of your ass people look at you differently.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

We can only beat teams that suck with jake as our QB.  Auburn has 3 losses now in the SEC and will probably get a fourth against bama and we couldn't beat those losers at home.  We have no chance of winning against teams that are actually good, that is what bothers me.

To be fair, that's not much different than any other year.

Yeah and I hate our QB every year (since 03).   I didn't like Klein.

The only thing I can tell from that graphic is that our Jake Waters isn't very different from Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.

Not if you're one of the people touting completion percentage

The run game was crap because WVU was selling out to stop it. This opened up the pass game, and Waters was good enough to take what the defense was giving him. That's not to say Waters is bad, just that the lack of a running game didn't really make things harder for him. A poor running game only makes things harder on the QB when it allows the defense to play the pass.
This guy...

How often does Jake Waters throw for 400 yards when the running game is working?
Yards should not be a metric, game was extended by inability to burn clock.
The lower the rushing total the better the QB rating is really your point here is it?

No, it really depends on why the rushing yards are low. If the defense is selling out with a bear front and run blitzes to stop the run, you should have a good day passing. If the defense is just running a base 4-2-5 and you can't run, you probably aren't going to be able to pass, either.
I see your point but it certainly isn't that simple.  That type of defense does limit some of the passing game, and it generally takes an above average QB to really take advantage of it.  Absolutely no running game leads to a lot of third and longs and a blitz coming limits how long you can wait to get open against m2m (except for TLBL, stud obvs).

If i remember right TLBL wasn't at 100% yet for this game. Was he returning kicks yet at the Auburn game? I can't remember. Either way, had TLBL been 100% healthy that would have been an easy W.

I know Carnes is carnsing, but I'd say victories at OU and WV debunk his dumbass theory. :th_twocents:

I am happy that Jake is our QB. Is he the best we've ever had? No. But the Cats are 14-3 in their last 17 games and he's been a big part of that.

Why did you use 17 games?  Is that how many he has started?

One of those teams has 10x the talent that we'll ever have. But yeah, you're right, what a bum ass season.

Charles Jones not being 100% kills our run game. Jake also not pulling on reads was hard to watch. Out O-line is garbage when it comes to run block for designed handoffs. Has there ever been a team that's so awful in run blocking but so good in pass blocking? Waters has had time to throw the whole year

Sorry if I'm the only one who talks about the elephant in the room, but he's the main reason everyone turned on Waters. To deny that would be close to insanity.

Yeah not sure why he didn't pull on a lot of those read options.

My point is if there was no Sams to begin with, Waters would be viewed differently on this board. I don't think I'm too far off base here. Now time for some hunger games!

Well to be fair, some wanted Klein to sit over Sams (@trim, did I do that right?).
