5. Beasley
6. May
7. Ertz
8. Waters
9. Kavanagh

Sleep on Ertz is real.
He may ascend the list, but right now, he's put about half a season of good football together.  Definitely reason to be optimistic, but right now, I'd take someone with a more proven track record.

So you put Sisco ahead of Jake Waters? That makes a lot of sense, you dolt.

Give the pool of all QBs who:

1) played at least one snap at KSU
2) in the past 25 years

This includes:
Jason Smargiasso, Matt Garber, Chad May, Brian Kavanagh, Matt Miller, Jonathan Beasley, Michael Bishop, Adam Helm, Casey Vidricksen, Jeremy Milne, Ell Roberson, Marc Dunn, Jeff Schwinn, Dylan Meier, Allen Webb, Allan Evridge, Josh Freeman, Carson Coffman, Grant Gregory, Collin Klein, Sammuel Lamur, Daniel Sams, Jake Waters, Joe Hubener, Kody Cook, Jesse Ertz, Alex Delton

what is your draft order (top 10 ONLY) based on "skill/potential" to play college QB.

1. Mike Bishop
2. Josh Freeman
3. Ell Roberson
4. Jesse Ertz
5. Jonathan Beasley
6. Chad May
7. Collin Klein
8. Jake Waters
9. Matt Miller
10. Daniel Sams

Got pretty hard toward the end there.

1. Bishop
2. Klein
3. Freeman
4. Ell
5. May
6. Waters
7. Beasley
8. Sisco
9. Sams
10. Matt Miller

given the choice of Ertz coming off his junior senior vs Waters coming off his senior season to lead this team, i'm taking Ertz every single time

That's fair. A lot of the knock on Waters is that he wasn't a great runner, which traditionally is the biggest part of our offense. On the 2014 team though he was probably the best fit of a KSU QB besides Freeman to lead a team like that.

--Slightly off topic: Would the 2014 team have been better or worse with Freeman at QB rather than Waters? If so, how much? I say better. Would have been fun seeing Freeman sling it to Lockett/Sexton.

I love Sisco, but I still have this fear of him folding up like a lawn chair after a hit. He's got IT, tho!

Skill/Potential to play college QB means pretty much ranking them on their careers to me, with the possible exception of active players (Ertz).  I can't give anyone credit for anything they didn't show on the field.  Ertz is more a projection to where he will rank at the end of the season.

1. Bishop
2. Klein
3. Roberson
4. Freeman
5. Ertz
6. May
7. Beasley
8. Waters
-BIG GAP-
9. Miller
10. Kavanaugh

Semi-related: I've wondered before how much Freeman could have benefited from staying for his senior season and spending a year under Snyder. Can't imagine it would have improved his draft stock, but I do wonder if it could have made him a little tougher.

I don't know if he was willing and able to run the ball like Snyder wants the QB to run, which is completely fine, the guy was an arm for hire. He was just as good as Tim Couch who was an overall #1 pick.
I agree with this, but Snyder let Chad May sling the ball a little bit and I don't remember May running the option very much but I was young then and didn't pay as close of attention to the play selections.  so maybe he would have adjusted to Freeman's strong points.  I've often thought about what would have happened for sure.

snyder has always designed his offense around his qb's
and may still checked into short side option but I think we had to be +2 in the box

4. Klein

9. Waters

Quote
Broke the school's career records for completion percentage, passing efficiency, total offensive yards per game (260.2) and passing yards per attempt among QBs with 500 or more attempts (9.09)... Also finished second in school history in career touchdowns, ranked third in passing yards and passing yards per game, fourth in completions and total offensive yards (6,766), fifth in attempts and sixth in touchdowns responsible for (55)...

i had to quote it twice...this message board's "take" on waters,  i mean,
