Well back in the early days of the board Beems posted regularly, multiple times a day. The week of the OKC pod in 2010, that had K-State and KU, Beems was peak Beems, all of the bluster and braggadocio, to be had. Anyway, I believe the way this particular rant came up is that people were trying to convince him to attend the pod, and he backed out of attending by proclaiming that the first day of the tournament was "my Christmas and I'll be watching basketball all day, faggots." I may have the set up wrong but the quote is 100.

It was during KSU's first round game on the Thursday in OKC, and I believe it was all in chat.  Some gE'rs had alredy gone down to OKC; I hadn't and was watching it at the office.  Beems was rough ridin' up chat and we were questioning why he was even in there for a KSU game, and he explained it with the quote.  I don't think anyone was trying to convince him to go to OKC.  He sent this the next day, which is how I was today able to pin the story down.

Totally went against my normal behavior and said something stupid.  Nothing personal... I was just irritated with Chingon.  Sorry again, Trim.  I'm leavin' for OKC in a bit and I hope I can buy you a beer or somethin when I get down there.

So we already knew he would be there when we all would be.  The part about convincing him was Saturday night when we wanted him to be part of our celebrationPAK.

No, the games in question were the 2nd round.  We'd already beat unt in the first and the squawks had beat Lehigh.  Then, in the same session, they lost to northern iowa followed by us beating byu.  In between those 2 games was a concourse pak head-themed reenactment of this:

it was absolutely peak gE. kk, sdbro, myself, and bsf$$cat were at the UNT game. met fatty and his bro outside and he was in intense negotiations with some ticket scalpers and he went back to one for like a third round of negotiations and got tickets super cheap and he came sprinting over to us and told us how cheap he got them. he was so happy. we went to like this chicken restaurant/bar and made that the official day time gE establishment. a combo of JJ's Alley (situ injun's home) and some dirthole blues bar I can't remember the name of with a hot dog and bbq beef buffet (had it's own combo fan hand symbol...the hotdog and bbq beef, not the bar) were the nighttime spots. mir, jw, trim, rd, myself, kk, fatty, fatty's bro, sdbro, bsf$$, gooch, cassidy, chicat, a bunch of non-posters (probably missing some people) all participated at some point.

that was a very fun day. the hot dog bbq beef combo with hand sign combo was v funny. I was mildly pak'd at the end of the night and walked back to the hotel a little early thus missing the trim choke out.
