how much does one save by flying these shitty airlines, like $30?  how can it possibly be worthwhile?


the concept of flying something like spirit to las vegas makes absolutely no sense

99% of the time I agree and avoid them any chance I get.

The frontier to CUN saved me 400 bucks all in and only direct option for the dates needed.

The only spirit flight I've personally taken was r/t to get back to KC for the parade...bought them 8 hours before leaving. Spirit was booked due to a combo of price (like half price of SWA) and times that worked best. I needed a red-eye direct and spirit was the only option.

and you'll think, whatever, they must've moved it back or forth a few minutes and you'll click the link and find your flight's now on a different day or has been canceled entirely.  So probably extend your own availability for this trip a few days on both ends.

i just pulled up MCI-LAS 8/31-9/3
swa $306 rt

spirit $386 rt w/ one carry on purse, one checked bag, bigger seat ($110), leave at 6:30 am to LAS, 1:00 am to MCI.  ok take away the $110 big seat fee, and you're at $276 with shitty flight times, shitty on board service.  seems like a crap way to save $30 on your  way to blow everything you have at the craps tables.

yeah it's anecdotal but my bigger point is that if you're pinching pennies to get to your vacation, maybe vacation isn't the best idea

must be a popular time, my coworker flew MCI-LAS in Feb for $130 RT Thurs-Sun.   SWA was like $350

The worst business model is those effing resort fees in Vegas you are forced to pay. At least with carry-on you do get a personal item for free so there is a situation in which you wouldn't have to pay.

HINT: I'm flying Southwest. I forgot to check in until about 12 hours late and got B50's for both flights and there was plenty of overhead bin space and I got aisles with no one sitting by me each flight. Plus there's free water!

I mean frontier seats don't recline and you have to pay for water I think

They have great extra room seats with good recline and dales pale ale. They do have an incredibly cheap bare bones product if you don't want to pay for anything extra but complaining about it is for low/mediums.

data point - they will kick you and your whole family off the plane if your kid has a peanut allergy - most legacies will make it a peanut free flight but Allegiant won't
