No one is denying that, kdub has been tooting the trump train since the primary

remember when he took a few weeks off to recharge the batteries and circle the wagons in preparation for years of defending a known horrible, horrible person?

Robert Reich is not a very reliable source for accurate quotes.

My opinion of Trump hasn't changed. He wasn't my choice. I'm a Trump supporter to the extent that I'm glad he's not Hillary, he is president, and nothing I can do will transform him into Cruz (or make the GOP less incompetent/corrupt), so I'll just be thankful for the silver linings. Namely, Gorsuch, rolling back regs, and the hilarity of driving the liberals crazy.

I also find myself defending Trump because it's hard to avoid. There's just so much liberal butthurt smeared all over the place, and it's causing so many people to behave so stupidly. So when someone approvingly quotes an anonymous "former GOP congressman who, like, knows stuff" and then someone else reposts that here... I'm going to laugh at that. It's just so dumb. There's enough real news out there that I can't believe you people dwell on crap like this. It's "impeachment" porn. You just can't help yourselves.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Yeah pushing for nuclear war and being an admitted sexual assaulter and racist bigot is pretty hilarious and probably something to be supportive of

You've been updating the Hillary indictment thread for three and a half years now.

This is legit best reasons to support a president and ignore the rest of that stuff...I mean it's like trivial to him naming Gorsuch amirite?

And Hillary wasn't even in office when that was going on. AND there in an ongoing special counsel investigation which already told Manafort that he will be indicted.

Trump is leaking that so Pence won't run against him in 2020.

I created a thread for liberals losing their minds over Trump, but it could just as easily be this thread of many others. You are so deranged that you can't realize that Trump was joking about how Pence has been unfairly characterized. Nope, to a liberal, Trump just confessed that Pence wants to hang gays.

Given the presidents track record of being a bigot and racist I can’t believe I took this joke about killing gay people the wrong way.  The president of the United States of America is just joking about killing gay people guys, my bad.

Again, he was not joking about hanging gays. He was joking about the absurdity of how people (like you) actually think Mike Pence wants to kill gays. That's an important distinction that, sadly, I don't think you're going to get. Because you are a dumbass and/or batshit crazy. Pretty sure it's both.

Maybe you joke about killing minorities and gay people a lot to make another point but that’s not something I do.  It’s just so hard to know when he’s being serious and when he’s joking, he just does it so often.  I expect people like you to be serious about that but not the president of the United States.  I’m glad you finally have a world leader outside of other dictators that you can gravitate towards.

exactly.  He thinks he's funny and has no idea the impact of his words.  He'd be fired already if he was CEO of a public company....but we've got fools falling all over themselves to defend him as POTUS...it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

This is without a doubt the most depressing thing about politics for me. No one seems to care about the merits or performance of a candidate. They feel like they have to defend their party and do all kinds of crazy mental gymnastics to get there.

I agree with you in general - just not about this particular instance. "Defending" that Trump joke isn't mental gymnastics, it is mental walking in a straight line while sober. It is reason and common sense, something that was always in short supply and has now flown completely out the window for liberals who were mentally broken by the staggeringly unexpected Trump win.

I'd prefer not to defend Trump as much as I do - he wasn't my choice for president - but if liberals would stop acting so ducking crazy I wouldn't have to.

You may have heard otherwise, but I can honestly say the first time I’ve heard any talk about Pence wanting to hang gays came from Trump. Which is pretty scary given his constant flirtation with neo nazi groups.

And I just cannot fathom for example the CEO of Chick fil A being asked about some trans bathroom policy and saying, “well don’t get the company president started on that since he wants to hang them all,” and still keeping his job.

So are you saying we shouldn't be critical of a president when he is just joking? Is the president in the position in your opinion to throw out jokes against classes of people and expect it to just be "lol that POTUS" and move on?

I'm confused because every other president has been held at 1000x the level of decorum that we see out of trump daily....is this just the "lol eff PC" movement or what? I'm honestly confused and intrigued by this.

I mean lets put away he cant get anything done and can't take ownership of that failure or how he attempts to use the very tools he railed past presidents for using.  I guess if maybe he was invoking real change (positive to some I'm sure) then I could see them wanting to defend his antics because they were getting some real change they thought would improve the country....but he isn't doing that and has shown zero signs he will be able to do that....it's so weird.
