Fake Patty's Day

What are these wristbands that you speak of? I am coming from out of town, and I didn't even know they were doing cover charges until I read this thread.
Some crap like you buy a wristband for 10$ and overpriced drinks are half off.

I cant remember if it rained in '09 or not, but i dont think it did. Seems like its been a beautiful day every year. Anyway, we wont let that 'rain on our parade' lolz.

But man we'll see how it goes this year. Sounds like theyre going to be busting house parties left and right. The townies REALLY dont want FPD to last much longer.

Why are townies so rough ridin' stupid?

Do they not see how much money FPD makes Manhattan?

They can't stand out-of-townies taking their pool tables at Mae's and Eddy's.

Nice in the morning, rain in the afternoon/early evening, clear later.

The bars aren't the fun part on FPD anyway. The fun part is the drunken party all across the student ghetto (which is what Manhattan residents probably hate more than anything). Do yourself a favor and only go to the bars in the morning and at night once everyone has passed out. That's the only way to avoid standing in line for an hour just to stand in line for another hour to get one lousy, overpriced drink.

On another note... I have heard that because the crowds are so big, the city and Aggieville owners are talking about fencing off Aggieville next year and having a festival drinking setup of some sort where you can bring your drinks outside. That would make FPD that much better and would probably help to concentrate the debauchery more to Aggieville instead of the surrounding areas.

I saw Reggie and the Full Effect at Silverado's. Longhorns got good Red Dirt bands and Auntie Mae's gets some good bands, too.

Flaming Lips used to play at Bomber's back in the day all the time. I wasn't old enough to go, but it happened.  And then Bomber's burned down "accidentally".   :sdeek:

The summer my friend's band played Misfits covers every Monday at PJ's. I guess it wasn't "really good" as much as it was "really fun".

So umm yeah, i guess never.

Working from 3-7, but bars on FPD don't sound all that fun.  Then again I'm not a huge fan of shoulder to shoulder crowds.

Man, it seems like Fitz really fitzed this thing up.

The bars should disassociate with him like the players union's inevitably have to do with their reps who only make things more contentious during labor negotiations.

Pike, sorry that this thing that you've been looking forward to for so long has been ruined.

Appreciate the condolences. Maybe it wont be that bad. Its obvious that theyre just trying to make it harder to get annhilated. Longer lines, cover charge, enforcing fire codes etc. As long as they dont go beyond that by busting house parties and arresting people and dishing out tickets then it will still be pretty fun.

That's what the extra cops are for.  Parties that charge for a cup are going to be charged with hosting an open saloon, hosting to minors etc

I imagine that would be pretty hard to prove as long as the party goers/hosters aren't complete dumbasses.
