2017-18 Conference Prediction Thread
« on: December 23, 2017, 04:42:21 PM »
KSO guys were talking about 9 wins in conference automatically getting us in. That seems true. So here's me trying to find 9 wins, not that I think that will happen. What are your predictions for our conference record?

@ISU - Win
WV - Loss
@Tech - Loss
O-State - Win
@KU - Loss
OU - Loss
TCU - Win
@Baylor - Loss
KU - Win
@WV - Loss
@UT - Loss
Tech - Win
@O-State - Loss
ISU - Win
UT - Win
@OU - Loss
TCU - Win
Baylor - Win

Conference is way too balanced for me to predict but I like your prediction of a win at home against KU.

If we can make shots, we'll have a pretty good chance against everybody and should be able to hit 9 wins or more.  If we hit 15% from three like Tulsa and Wazzu, no chance.

ASU showed our ceiling when we hit shots. (Missed lay up from going to overtime with the #3 team in the country)
Tulsa showed our floor when we miss shots.    (Loss to a mediocre team that would finish last in the Big 12.)

TCU OU and KU all teams to beat. We should split with TCU, beating KU at home is possible but not exactly the best of odds. OU is a toss up is Trae Young stays healthy. We will split with WV. Oscar is Huggins kryptonite

Baylor, spit home and home
TECH, win 2
TCU, 2 losses
Texas, 1 win and 1loss
OU, 2 losses
OSU, 2 wins
WVU, 1 and 1
KU, 1 and 1
ISU, 2 and 0
8 wins 10 losses.  Have to beat Georgia and 1 Big 12 tourney win to be a bubble.  The first 4 games can be wins, and an Allen Fieldhouse win if new additions are not in place for KU.  Even if Sousa qualifies, getting them early in Lawrence before Sousa can get acclimated will be good.  Oklahoma is going to muddy the waters good.

Could all 10 teams make the tourney????

There isn't a team in this league to be afraid of, but there also isn't an auto win (ISU, UT, OSU aren't very good). When we shoot well we will win. When we shoot poorly we'll probably lose.

0-18

I'm pretty certain this would get oscar fired. 2-14 worked for Tom.

Love this site every year:

http://bball.notnothing.net/big12.php?sport=mbb

1. Kansas (15 - 3)
2. Oklahoma (14 - 4)
3. West Virginia (13 - 5)
4. Texas Tech (11 - 7)
5. Baylor (9 - 9)
6. Texas (8 - 10)
7. Kansas State (7 - 11) Defeated TCU based on record against #3 teams.
8. TCU (7 - 11) Lost to Kansas State based on record against #3 teams.
9. Oklahoma State (3 - 15) Defeated Iowa State based on record against #6 teams.
10. Iowa State (3 - 15) Lost to Oklahoma State based on record against #6 teams

4-8 is a toss up for me.  A bunch of teams with really weak schedules and no quality wins.   I think the B12 gets 5 in the tournament with a 6th being really bubbly or play-in.

I think the bunching 3-10 will be tighter than that and that 7 teams in the NCAAs is doable.

I appreciate your disbelief in TCU. I do think WVU or OU may unseat Bill this year though.

I think OU is going to do it. Young is too good and they have too many other pieces. We shall see.
