Colorado State, Should They Be DII, DIII, or NAIA?
« on: July 14, 2016, 09:36:42 AM »
Seems like they are small time losers who can't compete at the DI level and should move themselves down several divisions to compete. Thoughts?

They seem to be doing pretty well in DII. Maybe they can get to FCS status soon.

They can drop down divisions all they want but do people up there even put down their smokey drugs long enough to go to any of their games?

I'd say NAIA because then if they end up with any stud kids they could basically be our farm team and those stud kids we would allow to walkon to the cats

Do they really have a coach named Bobo? No way that that is a real person.

D1 in basketball seems really reasonable.

Remember when Norfolk State beat Mizzou in the NCAA tournament, and made those shirts that said "It wasn't an upset?"  That was so great for those kids.  I feel like CSU is every bit the same level of school as Norfolk State.

Now, I AM pretty biased in favor of CSU because I grew up skiing at Keystone with my parents on the church ski trip every year.

Are they the same as Colorado School of Mines or no?

I went on a tour of a mine once in Colorado (I think it was Cripple Creek).  That was also a church trip, but with the youth group (lots of shenanigans, but I did get to second base with a hotty, so great trip).

Honestly, given the close affiliation I have with Colorado (I have been to Casa Bonita like 7 times), I should probably recuse myself from this debate.  I just want to be totally above board about this.

That's cool. Mines are an important part of our economic structure. Without mines, there would be no coal for our power plants.

Not sure if I would like that.

It sounds like KU, where the medical school is in that super high crime neighborhood in inner city Kansas City.

Fort Hays State and Colorado State would make a fun rivalry.  Lot of kids from the same towns at each school.  Kind of a brother vs brother thing.

Another Colorado State University Fact: the University isn't actually accredited. It's like a University of Phoenix that you have to show up and collect your phony degree from instead of ordering it online.

they have some but it's not what you're thinking. their actual "campus" is like 4 strip malls on this one stree. They have a student union but it's really just a Half Price Books store with some couches. the cafeteria is a Taco Bell in the parking lot that isn't even affiliated with the school but it's a defacto and kind of been adopted by the faculty and students as a hang out of sorts. it's a good partnership because the campus gets some reasonably priced food and the taco bell doesn't go out of business.

UOP is accredited, you idiots.  :curse: Don't drag my alumni into this. You're right tho, Colorado State is no where as close to the academic altitude of University of Phoenix. I've seen the studies. It's not even close.

Since your wins in 2015 were against South Dakota (5-6), UTSA (3-9), Kansas (0-12), LA-Tech (9-4), Iowa St (3-9) and UTEP (5-7) perhaps you should ask this question of K-State.

This is not true.  CSU is actually very good academically.  In fact, CSU is rated higher than K-State.

If you want an apples-to-apples comparison check the following links (see the "University Rankings" Table).

Colorado State is just something that Colorado alums made up to scare their kids into studying.

Here's something other than Wikipedia for you.

http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-health-schools/veterinarian-rankings

CSU = 3rd.
KSU = 14th.

What color ribbon did they give you for 14th place?
