Pretty horrible way to die for that hamster.  You’d think someone with an emotional support hamster would know how to make an ethical kill.
Drop a heavy bag on the vermin.  I wonder if it had a little red vest on it.  Probably didn’t so that is why the airline made a snit about it.  I can see a perv trying to sneak one on board in his underwear.

United must not like dogs.  Just reported they made a family put it's pup in the overhead bin, pup died.  Now a family shipped their dog to KC, but it got shipped to Japan.

is it normal for a dog to be in an overhead?

No, in fact it is against United's own policy.

The dog was hidden in a duffle bag.  Not a carrier

The dog was hidden in a duffle bag.  Not a carrier

It was a carrier that sort of resembles a duffle bag. It is soft sided but holds the rectangular shape, unlike a limp duffle bag. The passenger told the flight attendant that there was a dog in it and then the dog barked for 2 hours. Plus the flight attendant lifted the bag so would have felt the puppy inside.

If you bring your animal on a flight without a ticket it should have run the gauntlet imo.

Yeah, if the carrier won't fit under the seat in front of you, then you should either get off the flight or take your chances with it in the overhead bin.

My take also applies to lap children. If you care so little about the safety of your child and the comfort of your neighboring passengers it’s the gauntlet.

My understanding is that these people paid $125 to bring their pet onto the plane only to have that pet murdered.

They failed to put their pet into a small enough carrier. Then they were too cheap to get off the flight and chose to risk its life instead.

Airlines should find their historically less populated and more inconvenient flights and make them pet-friendly. If your dog’s chill and you buy it a full-price ticket and seat, then it can fly with and in the same manner as the humans. Humans w/o dogs could get cheap tickets on those flights too if there’s room.

I’d pay more and take a shitty path to something like FattyFest that I could plan well in advance for and wanted to take the dog to.

More than a half million animals flew in 2017, nearly 140,000 of them on United. Overall, 24 died -- 18 of those also on United flights.  "What happened to this pet was disgraceful," said Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy.

ALONG WITH THE THINGS THAT YOU TELL YOUR KIDS NOT TO SAY ON A JET, TELL THEM NEVER TO BARK LIKE A DOG, ESPECIALLY ON UNITED.

I sat across the aisle from somebody transporting a dog once. It wasn't that bad if you don't mind hearing high pitched whining and smelling dog crap for 3 hours.

only some sort of horrible dog-hating misanthrope would mind that.

in a duffle bag, they didn't pay extra and also spoke no English.  The dog was essentially hidden
