We use bluejeans.com for web conferences. It works way better than GoToMeeting.

I have this situation that is sort of related to the discussion happening in the travel thread.

So, we have a company that does some work for us, and I have been coordinating a lot over the phone & email with one particular guy. He is now leaving that company, and my boss wants me to call him and ask where he is going and ask for his phone number. Super creepy right? What if he thinks I want to hook up with him???

Plus the guy already connected with me on LinkedIn last week.

This is stressing me out because my boss keeps coming over and asking if I have called the guy yet and I don't really want to.

There's no one to delegate it to. Well the only guy that I might delegate it to is out sick today.

No, I am supposed to ask for his personal contact info and also find out where he is going. I don't know it just seems really nosy and stuff. I'm not very good at networking, obviously.

If I were getting a new job and somebody I used to do contract work for called me to tell me they'd like to hire my new company for contract work because I did a good job, my first thought wouldn't be that this lady must want to hook up with me.

And also because we have contracts for this company that he is leaving to do work for us so it might seem like we want to like go around the back door and get him to do some work for us which would be taking work away from that current company or something (which is probably why my boss wants his contact info just in case he wants to do that at some point).
