Skylar is pretty accurate for a college QB.  He isn't super accurate for a college QB.  He's had some really good throws.  His deep passes leave a lot to be desired.  It's interesting, because he seems to have decent arm strength, but he throws the ball straight up into the air on anything deep.  Maybe if he took a geometry class he'd be better.  But Skylar is transferring unless something changes.  He hates Snyder.  Probably a D. Sams situation where he thinks that Snyder hates him because he doesn't praise him.  This is probably something that Snyder should work on, because it seems to have an effect on a good amount of players.

FWIW, I think have a hunch that Klein was behind the 4th and 1 speed option check/fail.  If you’ll remember, when Klein was QB when we played at Miami, there was a crucial 4th down play.  Everybody in the world knew we were gonna sneak, and Miami put 11 guys in the box.  Klein checks out of it to the exact same play.  Great success.  Today when we showed sneak and then checked, I actually said out loud, “here comes the option.”  I’m betting that Klein was like “hay I’ve been here before.  This worked for me.”

Unfortunately, Thompson is not Klein.

Correct. Because as I found out today, Thompson is going to play in the NFL.

Does Thompson go pro this year or wait one more year?

It's ok wacky, somebody dumbly proclaimed Ertz was going to be a pro too. I'd take the odds w/ Skylar way before Ertz, but let's be honest with ourselves, we don't get NFL qbs.

Correct. Our Heisman runner-up QB didn't even make a roster. :frown:

If Johnny hubener and that wide receiver can win 6 games as qb, I fully expect future nfl'r Skylar Thompson to at least hit that mark

He's draft eligible, this is his third year of college football.

Thompson hasn't proven to be better than Sisco. Sisco wasn't in a QB battle with Alex Delton.

Ertz was about a billion times better at running the ball than Skylar

The thing they do have in common is that they aren't NFL qbs. But hey, maybe Skylar has time and could make massive improvement in his game (doubt it though). Ertz never showed that ability though.

Maybe it’s the assistant coaches that should be fired; it seems to me that Snyder has this right by wanting to go with Delton.  It’s the dumbass assistants who want to keep rolling with Thompson, despite the pathetic performance we have seen from our offense so far this season.

I just hope our assistants call play suited for Delton.

Thompson has a better arm than Ertz. It’s that simple in the NFL these days.

Delton can run, nobody's denying that trait, but his passing game leaves a lot to be desired.  He hasn't shown the capability to read the defense and make correct throws/plays.  Plus he has the issue of staring down at a receiver several times.  He has 2 INT's for the year, but I know that number could have been higher had the defenders not dropped the ball.

If K-State have any realistic chance of winning any games, they'd need to go to the Army/Navy/Air Force offense route and run the ball, without killing their QB in the process, which is literally impossible.  And they really really really need to stop making Barnes go sideways.

No doubt, Thompson would be better option at maybe every other college.
But formula is different for us.
There is no way our offense wouldn’t be better to this point with us running Delton in the Klein junior year offense.
I just hope our coaches don’t come in and have Delton throwing all over the field (sorts like having Thompson carry the ball a ton)

It would be fun if Gene met Bill in the tunnel after the game and fired him right there, like how Tim Weiser did it to Wooly.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
