It was a foot injury. I remember going to the GPC recruiting thing after he signed and they had his high school highlights, he was dunking all over the place.

wow, dunking in a half-court set.
Like I said, it was unheard of at the time. I think I'd only seen Kenyatta Dix accomplish that feat.

i bet pasco was amazed to see that a player could dunk a basketball.  hoskins and harris, i can't even imagine what they must have thought.

also cartier somehow seemed to get way more athletic the longer he played under huggings because huggins made him. cartier under wooly was more than fine and content hanging and occasionally doing stuff. huggins made him go to the rim and made him rebound as well. cartier with four years under huggins would've been fun to see. at least that's how I remember it.

his purported pre-injury explosiveness sounds like a great kstate myth.

I've always thought this. Either way, he was never that type of player here.

I have to admit that I think we have reached that point.  What do we have to offer.  We have 3 healthy good player, one crippled guy, a bench full of knotheads, and no scholarship for a new coach to recruit  with.  I think it is conceivable that Brown and/or Wade transfer.  If Oscar gets canned, do it now.  We would have a hell of a Missouri Valley team, but Big 12 naw.  What frustrates me is other pud programs like TCU, Texas Red Ticks, and OSU are moving up and forward.  But not us.  Hell no, we have bonehead administration that want bland white barf for basketball and football.  They really don't give a rat's ass about grunt fan.

This is the hard part... TCU, TTech and maybe OSU (Brad Underwood leaving sucked for them, so we'll see long term with the new coach) really invested in their programs have begun to creep over KSU.  The top schools seem to be pretty solid each year, with OU's flop last year as an exception, and I don't see KSU gaining any ground against them.

I still think KSU can land a good coach (TCU, TTech and OSU (with Underwood) did).  We have great facilities, great history and an 'ok' recent history.  Provided the 'Core-Four' stay we could be an attractive place for a good coach.  Perhaps Steve Henson will really turn it on at UTSA, he has already made good strides, this year and become a good candidate as well... maybe he could lure in Mitch Richmond to be the assistant head coach?

Wow... this is embarrassing... I had no idea Brad left OSU.......

I also loved Curtis Allen more than was probably reasonable.  I was super sad when he transferred.  Always thought he should have played more mostly because of his awesome dunks in pregame.

Basketball is easy to turn around if you have the right coach.  The fans will be there....and the Big 12 is a very exciting conference right now.  Can you imagine what Bram would be like when the angriest fans in the country return?

The question isn't if a decent coach will come here, but instead will Gene go after decent coaches.

Are we still the most hated team in America again this year or did someone take that title from us?

This is the same line of unconfident losery thinking that some people have with the football team and it puzzles and bothers me.  "OMG we'll never get a good coach to come to little old Manhattan Kansas!"

First, I never said Martin wasn't better than Wade.

Second, is very likely Wade is at least HM all league and maybe matches Martin's 2nd team as a junior.

Third, Stew was a mediocre point guard, a game manager at best. Kam and Brown are both better players.
Sorry I was on mobile and that formatting ended up terribly.  I didn't mean to suggest that you made that comparison when you clearly didn't.

Once again, you are king of solid stats that really provide a lot of food for thought, thank you for that.

I know I'm being colored by my time watching Wooly in school and Huggins first year my first year out, but there is no way I'd really consider Wade on par with Martin.  I know I'm being colored by man personal factors.  I feel like the FTA, 2PA show Martin's weight of contribution to the offense.  I would love to see points per game (not sure that's possible, and you don't need to do anymore leg work).  I also feel like Wade's stats have shown a gradual regression under oscar.  My hope is that these last few games usher in a new Wade that continues to force the issue with this kind of quality play.

Thanks Fan!

lol did you see this post? like, pretty much everything has improved every year. Lots of things to hate about oscar without having weird feelings about Wade.

FTA, 2PA have both gone down, TO rate when up between 16 and 17 and is much higher so far through conference only stats, which many here agree is when Wade started turning the corner to being a player who could impact the game again. I would also argue the eFG% going up is a factor of him being more passive taking easier shots (see his assist numbers going up as he chooses to pass more instead of shooting, granted that is mostly because of oscar's system which under utilizes the post, in the post.).
