Who guarded Roach?

Everyone. We switched everything and Texas couldn't adjust to it.

It was nice to see our shooting come back.
Going 23-37 on 2pt with Bamba patrolling the middle, only getting 1 block.

I still can't for the life of me figure out how a team that plays like Texas does could only have 1 foul with 50 seconds to go in the game.

I can't believe Shaka came out of the zone in the 2nd half.  We do what we do best against a zone, became a jump shooting team.......clank, clank, clank. :Yuck:

He went man at the end and we carved it up.

Awaiting the inevitable KITN

They aren't a very good zone team, too big and slow, also playing zone neutralizes their greatest strength which is interior defense.

Has Stokes made a basket since coming back?

0-5, all 3s. I can't complain about any shot he's taken though and he's distributing the ball really well with an assist to TO of 7:2 in only 24 minutes.

Mawien could've had a big offensive night if he had avoided all the WTF plays.

true but we get great looks, especially for Wade around the foul line.  He looks so free and easy on those it has to drive other coaches crazy to give them up.

Shaka has his man to man defense ego like most coaches. They aren't going to play zone defense in the last 5-6 minutes of any game ever.

If he went zone he may as well put Bamba and Oteskwhatever on the bench. Again if you're dominating the paint, on both ends, you don't play zone.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I think he's got a team similar to many of his VCU teams. Its not like he dominated and won Colonial and A10 titles, though he got 2nd several times in those leagues, he just had a magical Final 4 run and a couple other decent tournaments. He's lost in the first round his last 3 trips.

I don't know why he went away from pressure defense. I think his havoc system masked a lot of his faults as a coach.

I'm guessing Smart is having a much tougher time getting guys to put in as much effort/intensity as the other dudes he recruited at VCU with a chip on their shoulder.

Off topic, but one of my shower thoughts this morning was maybe that is why Frank was so good at getting us a tournament win but it was so hard to get out of the first weekend.  The guys played hard as always but maybe just could not physically recover in time to replicate that kind of effort.

Man what would a win against the Red Raiders mean for Weber?  Are we going to have someone steal him?  I am sure Colorado State would like to have him.
