Known stud Tom is technically correct, as both of those championships were won in the calendar year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy nine. But that was the '78 football season.

But as I re-read mocats query, he did say which year, not which season.

Steelers won back to back super bowls 79 (78 regular season), and 80 (79 regular season).  Pirates won 79 world series.

I will submit this for consideration... 1948 Cleveland Indians (their last WS championship) and 1948 Cleveland Browns (AAFC champions).  They both shared Municipal Stadium.

Wish I got Bally sports
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Kind of adorable story but my mother in law (royals fan) didn't watch the games but I guess gets a certain type of headline in her news feed and this morning was (totally serious not trolling) inquiring because she saw my (Mets) shortstop had broken both of his ankles in yesterday's game and I would have been more  :dubious: about it but winning cures a lot of ills so haha

absolutely need 2 wins in Chicago and hopefully a sweep. Playoff caliber teams beat up on scrubs. 7 games at home next against AL East teams. Let's go baby!

I caught a Spanish broadcast the other day on ESPN+.  I haven't seen it since but I haven't really looked either.

I pay for it out of convenience only. Its nice to just have the app on my Apple Tvs and not deal with finding a stream and then shooting it to the TV and having it fail over and over. With this in mind, I totally get it and am glad no one pays for this crap app from this crap company. I wish no one but me paid for it so their demise comes sooner.  Its been said over and over again, but MLB is the only sport that actively makes it difficult for their fans to watch. Its beyond weird at this point and its no wonder kids and lots of adults don't watch baseball anymore.

Maybe the Royals should have made a deal with a channel that is still on sports packages of providers that people subscribe to.

I hear that. IDK about other platforms, but the MLB.tv or at bat or w/e for the fire stick might be the most user-hostile viewing experience out there. And every year they seem to innovate new ways to make it even worse

Seems to me like it's the Royals goddamn job to figure this out and not their fanbase's job to pay for it.

SKC broke the Bally's deal after they saw how shitty it was for their fans in the first year.  Royals didn't care and the deal was probably as costly to the stadium vote as anything.
