Real Madrid finally gets rid of a manager it never wanted

Quote
Yet Pellegrini's relationship with Pérez never broke down. It never existed in the first place. The Madrid president wanted Arsene Wenger to be his coach. Only when that option was revealed to be impossible did he begrudgingly allow Valdano to go after Pellegrini. He was never convinced. Never mind this week, last week or the week before, never mind Barcelona, Lyon or Alcorcón, Pellegrini was sacked the day he started.

Jose Mourinho's reveals plan to strengthen Real Madrid as Liverpool and Chelsea are braced for raids

Quote
It would be difficult to prise Lampard from Chelsea just two years after the England midfielder snubbed Mourinho's Inter Milan and signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. It is expected to be the 31-year-old's last big deal.

Gerrard, however, has question marks over his future at Liverpool and represents a player who twice got away from Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge of Chelsea.

Yeah I'd doubt Lampard would get lured away from the Blues. I can definitely see Gerrard heading that way though.

Especially since Gerrard got a 15 year old pregnant and needs to lay low (or go to a country with a lower age of consent, "ironically" Spain has that)

Cesc to Barcelona ?

Barcelona offer £29m for Cesc Fabregas

Quote
The bid is likely to be rejected as Arsenal have a much higher valuation of their captain who is under contract for four more years.

The move, however, is a clear statement of Barcelona’s intent and sources at the club are “optimistic” of re-signing their former youth player.

Benitez out at Liverpool

In what amounts to a vote of no confidence in the man who guided them to Champions League victory in 2005 on that unforgettable night in Istanbul, the Liverpool board approved a proposal to the Spaniard that would allow him to leave Anfield with a payoff worth about £3 million up front.

According to the terms of the five-year contract he signed in March 2009, Benítez is entitled to a £16 million severance package. However, given their financial predicament, Liverpool cannot come up with that kind of money, regardless of their desire to bring about a change of manager.

hopefully this get costlier and uglier for the red scousers.
