I almost woke my kids up watching Silicon Valley tonight.

"I asked her if she was a crazy bitch, and she said, "No."  So, we're good."

Erlich Bachman is pretty much the funniest character on TV right now.

man Fargo is pretty good
Yeah it's pretty great, it really stayed true to the feel of the movie. Also Martin Freeman may play that role better than William H. Macy did, and I'm a pretty big fan of ol' William.

I don't think it's the same role?

it's not the same person, but i think it is certainly intended to be the same character
This is precisely what I meant, should've said typecast or something. I know he's not the same character.

I guess what I'm saying is that both characters are based off two separate real people, in two distinct situations that occurred at different times. Just because they are both meek, cowardly, lying northerns doesn't mean they are the same character. You guys are definitely super :opcat: for thinking that tho.

The show exists in the same narrative universe as the movie, and it repeats some of the same details—a miserable shell of a man dangles his toe into the criminal underworld, a plucky female cop is on his case, and a terrified passenger flees into the woods beside a frozen highway—but they're jumbled and dispersed across new scenarios and different municipalities.

they're at least kind of the same character

Both of the characters are completely fictional, actually.

and they've said Fargo (movie) and Fargo (tv) take place in the same universe, but no other mutual characters or situations.

Finished up the Modern Family season. That show went down hill big time this year. Relied really heavily on slap stick and sit com cliches. Oh my tux is stuck at the cleaners! And now the Cleaners is closed!

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Yep.  But I don't really watch any shows.  So, I don't know if it was a good show compared to Mad Men or whatever.  I liked it.  I'm pretty sure it's good.  Still, I don't want to watch it if no one thinks it's good.  I want to watch something good.  So, is it good?
