Based on the videos, I liked Brown better than Roach. Roach is quicker and can jump higher, but Brown seems to have better developed skills including excellent handles, is a more intuitive player, and has a more well rounded game overall.

That is the main reason I like Brown, he can score in so many ways. He has such natural feel for the game and if you add the fact he is no chump athletically, you have a great player.

D Wade a hillbilly?  There ain't any hills in Stafford County, maybe deranged prairie dogs and rattlers the kids play with.   Sorry no chaw either, just wholecome taters and beef.  Talent is talent whereever it comes from.  I think our caoches are not a bunch of ignorant morans who don't
know who to recruit. Wade tortured his big city cohorts this summer at AAU events.

Screw everything in this class if we don't pour all of resources in landing Martavious future replacement.

I think 2 point percentage (64 for Roach and 57 for Brown) and PPG (16 for Roach and 20 for Brown) can be pretty skewed depending on level of competition on opponent's team and on own team.  But 3 point percentage favors Roach (44 to 38) while APG favors Brown (2.9 to 1.7).

You're precious. It's like someone opened up a time capsule and out popped a 2004 scout board poster.

If we are turing Roach away then we are done taking guards. Brown and Roach both out class Shamet. Believed Roach would of come down to us and Texas. Roach fits Texas system so well, so that sucks. I would consider Shamet a Colorado lean now. But Breads are coming in hot.

Yeah, I can't believe we've stooped so low as to recruit a fringe top 100 player in the nation.

Keep in mind it's just speculation but I doubt we've given up on landing another guard. It seems more likely that rather than running off roach, he's being more pragmatic after receiving hype from the rivals ranking (maybe we were towards the bottom of the list, we were late on him). I bet a lot of programs have been in his ear talking all sorts of crap this week, he's probably rethinking strategy and saving an official by not taking a visit this weekend.

preferred guards in order:
-wendell mitchell (scores 30ppg!, rebounds and assists above average)
-landry shamet
-admon gilder (gilder can score the ball but averages less than one assist per game)

Wendell Michell would be great too. I just hope we open up one more scholarship

We are done taking guards, Roach really liked K-State. We are going to take Wade who should commit with in the next 2 weeks and be done with the class. The roster is already guard heavy.

Should I be upset at B Brown for taking Roach's spot? I am currently upset. Plus, I'm not sure I'm ready to accept another Brown, the last one is still  my guy.

I think it's harder to find a stud PG than a stud SG, so I'm not upset about Brown over Roach. I really wish he was in the top 150 just for bragging rights, but his highlights look just as good if not better (at least to the untrained eye) as Roach's.

I'm sure he doesn't have much to choose from for highlights since he hasn't been in the AAU circuit or anything, but his video is not that impressive for a borderline top 100 kid.

Wade is a guy you need to see full game filed on. He has great skill set and can do a lot of things with the basketball. The question for him is if he can battle for 40 mins against quality opponents. He has had glowing reports on the during AAU season. A lot people think he is still growing, if he gets up to 6'10" he is guy you defiantly want.

My negative nancy side is just spinning here, but what if Brown comes down for a visit, thinks "crap, this is one long ways from home, I thought i was going to south carolina", or whatever state is next to Florida, and then resends his verbal several months from now.....in the mean time, we lose out Roach, Shamlet, and any other guard cause we "thought" we were full??? I mean, he hasn't even visited yet.....

THis would be bad.....
Awaiting the inevitable KITN

Basketball guys never really break their commitments, though, right?  Not unless there's a coaching change.

It's definitely different than in football where guys are fair game until signing day.  I can't even think of three or four examples of a guy committing to a school and then changing his mind unless the school did it for him (a la Alex Etherington).

You'll never admit it out loud, but there will come a time this season when you wish Will Spradling was on the team.  :Chirp:
