i think it’s ok to just not like the freaking weirdo without having to argue a phd thesis

but maybe i’m wrong based upon the reactions a lot of people who post here have when someone makes a negative comment?

i mean, I don’t like bananas either and don’t really have a great reason other than they’re kind of stringy

what has been made up?

In addition to the fact that he's an average B12 coach, I don't like watching his teams play as much as I like watching other teams. He is afraid to let his players play and IMO it leads to ineffective, boring offense most of the time. He's been a very good recruiter and pretty good at defense though.

My same reaction. I have no issues with people saying oscar is a dork. I agree. But acting like his players don’t respect/like him or that we could easily find a better coach if we canned his ass is just nuts.

It's fine to not like anybody, just don't make up stupid false reasons (eg, he isn't a good coach) for it. That's the same as being racist.

Absolutely, just say that. No need to minimize his accomplishments or act like the program was in better shape under Frank. Just say you don't like the guy, it's honest and somewhat understandable.

You haven't made anything up.

One of the biggest complaints was "oscar hasn't won a tournament game since 2011" or whatever. Then he wins three and it was only because of luck or something. I think downplaying an elite 8 is making things up.

His dorkyness is probably what I like most about him. His players now seem to like him. I don't think we could easily find a better coach, either.

everything horrible about him personally will become awesome if he can consistently win. If we compete for confy next year, make the tourney outside of the bubble, and win a game, I will be 100% bought in for life.

I think is overcoaching/not coaching certain parts of the game will make this success unlikely tho.

Agreed. He is so easy to dislike he would have to be way better x & o bball coach to make him tolerable

I also still don't think he's a very good coach. But I'm resigned to him being here until he retires if he doesn't take a different job in the next month or so.

I don't dislike oscar. I don't like him that much, either. I'm pretty neutral. I'd like him if he started consistently putting top 20 teams together.

I don't understand not liking him as a person. I think most who say this don't like Currie and have determined to dig their heels in.
