If the UK has something they can charge him with, it would be better to just leave him there.

Traditionally modern LibDerp Nation has treated people such as Assange as a heroes.

Since Assange helped expose LibDerp Nation heroine and multiple decade pillar of the LibDerp Nation movement Hillary Clinton.   It seems that the full coupling of LibDerp Nation to The Man has changed the dynamic substantially.

So Assange faces the death penalty, and Chelsea Manning got pardoned?

Maybe we should wait until Assange is executed before making that comparison.

He could face the death penalty.   That's what I said.

Agreed, the proper term in at least one case where Treason is thrown around a lot should be aiding and abetting.

Albeit providing aid and comfort to those violating a litany of Federal Laws and potentially impacting both the sovereignty and national security of the United States certainly brings Treason into play.

It depends almost exclusively on who is president at the time.

So Assange faces the death penalty, and Chelsea Manning got pardoned?

What he's been charged with carries a maximum of 5 years :ck:

Quote
The Justice Department charged Assange with "a federal charge of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion for agreeing to break a password to a classified U.S. government computer," per its press release announcing the indictment. The charge, which carries a maximum sentence of five years, alleges that Assange conspired with Chelsea Manning in 2010 to crack a password on Defense Department computers.
