Cause more violence, easier to kill more people and run around with, I would think yes. Granted I'm not gun expert. If I'm out to kill some people, I'd rather have the assault rifle. Pretty sure assault rifles have larger magazines as well? Easier to maneuver around with?

The term Assault rifle is a media term. There are no qualifying or disqualifying features because the category does not exist.
You would probably be horrified to know that the typical "deer" rifle such as a Rem. 700 is the exact same firearm as a "sniper" rifle. Is the army running around shooting people with deer rifles or is Elmer Fudd running around with a Sniper rifle? Probably depends if liberals are trying to justify taking it from him to the mass uneducated public or not.

I understand the point of a "hunting rifle" and it's equivalence to a "sniper rifle"
I would much rather have another DC sniper than a guy running around with an AK or an M-4, which was my point.
