Tech Support and Suggestion Board / Thread text preview
« on: October 20, 2015, 08:48:53 AM »
On another forum I see if you hover the cursor above the thread topic title it'll give you some of the first few words of text in the thread.  Can we get that?  Seems like an efficient way of browing this blog.

3
Can we get this added?  I'm sure the many hours of code writing will be worth it.

Essentially Flyertalk / It's rough ridin' harassment
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:40:45 AM »
Every day I get home and check the mail.  It's 85% crap.  Offers at a dental office, Price Chopper mailer, coupons, pizza specials, eff THIS crap!  I can go to a federal government website and put my phone on a do not call list, and it's mostly effective.  Yet, where's the option for mail?  It's a goddamned conspiracy I tell you.  rough ridin' government owned Post Office, they want all that mail revenue and traffic.  It's bullshit really.

Kansas State Football / Brant Petty: lacks toughness

Just got done reviewing the film and this kid is no Hyzemen candidate.  He's a FP.  Strains a little muscle in his back and he winces and wines like he scraped his knee and Mrs Halibaster the crazy cat lady neighbor is putting lava flavored Bactine on it.  Hey Brant, get the eff over it!  You're being a dramatic little bitch.  Collin Klein eats pussies like you for breakfast! Roll damn snyd!

See maybe you're a drunk or you're the punctual one amongst your friends?  This is the thread for you.  Please post how you handle this situation.

Me:  order three beers (1 then 2).  Then some guac.  When the staff brings beers two and three and asks "where do you want all this beer?"  you say "not on my tab!  Haha, seriously tho, right here is fine."

I mean think about it.  We all probably have some weird crap that we're not using.  One man's junk, yada yada.  For example...

15hp Yamaha outboard for a sailboat.  It's pretty old, like late 70's I'd imagine.  Hasn't run in forever but been kept indoors since 1986.  Someone needs this.
1989 BMW 535i, 232+k miles.  Silverish bronze in color.  Runs, needs work.  Comes with extra set of winter tires on factory rims.  Edited to add:  this thing is all Euro specs and was imported in 1990.
Recurve bow.  Never killed anything.

Essentially Flyertalk / How do you eat certain foods?
« on: March 14, 2014, 10:40:10 AM »
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup:  whole thing mouth
Double Stuff Oreo's:  I take two and pop one cookie cover off each, combine to make quadruple stuff.  Yup write that down.
spaghetti:  I don't roll/twirl on the spoon like you're supposed to.  Just roll/twirl on the plate.
Spin Pizza:  I pick it up.  I see lots of people eating with knife/fork but that's just not for me.
Lucky Charms:  At first I just eat it normal, taking scoops with both the 'mallows and the cereal bits.  As I get towards the end where there's only one layer of cereal floating on the milk I make sure each scoop has at least one 'mallow.  Then the last few dreadful scoops are all cereal bits.  Also I found this:  http://lunaticoutpost.com/Topic-Lucky-Charms-Breakfast-Cereal-Conspiracy
Burgers:  I pick them up with two hands, thumbs under the bottom bun, so the sesame seed side is on the roof of the mouth.  I see some people eat them upside down, otherwise I wouldn't find it necessary to even add this one.   :sdeek:
Skittles & Gummy bears:  segregate into colors.  Eat in order of going from favorite to least favorite.  Sometimes I give the ones I don't' like (yellows) to unsuspecting fools who might find me generous.

Kansas State Football / Which program is better? TCU bball or KU fball?
« on: February 21, 2014, 02:30:02 PM »
I keep going back and forth on this and would appreciate your input folks.  Here's where I am:

TCU is averaging about 1 conference win per season, which is more than KU, BUT....
Basketball plays more games, so there are more opportunities for a win, BUT...
One of TCU's wins was against a good team, where as KU beat lowly WVU at home, BUT...
KU is obviously headed in the right direction with the hire of Weiss, BUT...
TCU is still playing catchup to big boy basketball, BUT...

See guys?  I need help.  Help me.  Please.  Thanks.

So obviously they put up the drug dogs signs and are looking for people to bail off the interstate on that little country road.  What then?  I mean you still need probable cause to pull someone over, right?  Pulling off at that exit doesn't, to my knowledge, constitute probable cause.  They might just not GAF maybe?

Kansas State Football / Strategies for staying warm on Saturday??
« on: November 20, 2013, 09:52:31 AM »
Hey Cats fans.  It's going to be pretty cold out there on Saturday, and I don't want any of you freezing up, so I'm posting this public safety thread on how to keep warm during the game.  Now we all know heat rises, so I'm going to start from the bottom up.

Foot warmers.  I use these because it's all anyone wants to get me for a birthday or Christmas.  I have tons of these things.

You can pick them up at Cabela's or Dick's or any Orvis Endorsed Outfitter.

Socks.  You're going to wear them.  Might as well wear warm ones.  I recommend wool or other wool/synthetic mixes.  Stay away from cotton.  Thick/lofty socks will keep you warm, but only if you don't smash them into some tight fitting shoes.  Remember it's the loft that keeps you warm.

Boots.  Wow, tons of options.  Let your heart guide you here.

Undergarments.  As for keeping your balls/vag comfy, it's already been discussed at length here:  http://goEMAW.com/forum/index.php?topic=29501.msg942701#msg942701

But you should still wear some other form of long johns or something under your pants.  Merino or some moisture wicking synthetic is a good material choice.  I like these from Simms (they also make a pullover).

Remember LAYERING keeps you warm.

Pants.  Are you a jeans guy?  Okay, wear jeans.  Are you a sunup to sundown farm humper?  Rock those Carhartts cowboy.  Do you have mad swag?  Play on playa.  Just stay away from the skinny jeans.  I don't care if you have great buns.  They are too tight to keep you warm.  You want free circulation down there.  After the game you can change and go twerk it at Aggie Station.

Tops.  I'm not too particular here.  Just make sure it breathes well.

Jackets.  I like a good goose down jacket.  Lots of people make them and they've gotten really warm and light lately.  Mine is black but I've seen some companies make them in purple.  But what if it rains or it's windy as eff?  Throw a shell over it!  Goretex, obvs.  It'll keep the wind off you no problem.

Hats/Accessories  Look at this rough ridin' thing.  It's great, isn't it?  My mom got me one of these in Moscow in the 80's.  It's so awesome.

Any questions?  Nope, okay moving on to gloves.  I'm actually sort of torn here.  You could wear something warm and bulky but what about using the touchscreen on your smartphone?  Uh oh!  BUT WAIT!  HiFun makes these sweet ass gloves with Bluetooth so you can just talk into your hand like it's your rough ridin' phone!

The future is now, apparently.

Last but not least...

Fuel.  Your body is literally a furnace.  Pour any alcoholic fuel into it and it will burn it to make heat.  I recommend the following:

It's pepperminty, warm, will make you all tingly, and it'll fit nicely inside your waistband for discreet passage through the gate.

That's it folks.  My way isn't the only way and there is certainly lots of room for you to incorporate your own styles and preferences.  I just hope to get you thinking ahead so you can enjoy the game comfortably.  Hopefully some other ArcticCats will chime in with their own tips and tricks!  Go cats!

Anyone want to go in with me and buy a bison?

http://www.kdwpt.state.ks.us/news/KDWPT-Info/News/Weekly-News/10-31-13/PUBLIC-BUFFALO-AUCTION-NOV.-20

I can provide funds and a pickup to haul said bison.  Can locate a butcher.  Would like to retain rights to the hide.  Split the meat up.  BTW, bison tastes really good.

Essentially Flyertalk / Support thread: growing your hair out
« on: July 15, 2013, 09:37:06 AM »
Has anyone ever grown their hair out?  I'm a military brat so I've always had short hair.  But I do have nice hair and I think I'm ready to let it flow.  But how do you get through that super awkward middle stage?  Like now it's nice and neat and then it'll be just everywhere!  Do you just stop cutting it all together or do you keep the neck neat and such?  Do you talk over a strategy with your barber?  Also how do you resist the outside pressure to quit looking like a damn mess and cut it?  Also, I assume it's ball cap time every minute you're not at work?  Super worried here guys.  Thanks for the help.

Kansas State Football / Incoming freshmen nickname thread
« on: July 10, 2013, 01:16:39 PM »
Hey guys.  Thought we should take some time to get to know our "frosh meat" for next year.  In getting to know them we should be thinking of their nicknames.  To help us get to know them an apply an appropriate nickname, I've included pictures of each youngster.  I used the Google so some of them might not be right, but you know how that goes.

Anyway, WELCOME FINE YOUNG PEOPLE!  GO CATS!  :ksu:
