Different types of alcohol yield different types of drunkenness.  I appreciate them all.

I hate drinking beer to get drunk.  takes too long.  just too much dedication.  I like something that will get the job done in the first two to three drinks.

For this reason, I appreciate that Southern Comfort took the time to put out a 100 proof that tastes the same to me in coke.

Also, I love red wine.  I found an inexpensive Petite Syrah from Castle Rock recently that is really good.  I don't like other petite syrah or the non-petite version of syrah(don't know what the supposed diff is).

With wine, its the bottle or nothing.  I don't drink wine more than once every 1 or 2 weeks and I don't want half a bottle going bad before I get to drink the rest of it.  I usually drink the second half of the bottle right out of the bottle.

Typically like pinot noirs from Mediterranean. You can find this one about anywhere:

Only difference is the location where it's grown.  Just like how champagne is techincally only grown in the Champagne region of France (otherwise it is simply a sparkling wine), Shiraz is only grown in Australia (and sometimes South Africa maybe?); otherwise it is called a Syrah...Petite Syrah is actually a blend of two different grapes, one being Syrah and the other I can't remember.

The more you know, or whatever

Ah.  This makes sense.  I like Shiraz whenevs I can find one that isn't overly oakie.  Not a big fan of oak in my red, of any kind.

Wine and scotch are by far the best highs.  Like it isn't even close.

Doesn't 750 ml not seem like that much wine?  I shouldn't be able to drink a whole bottle by myself that easily.

I always offer her some, but she doesn't like wine, and then its gets to be where there's like 1/4 of the bottle left and it seems lame to save it so glug glug glug glug glug.......

it's not true.  petit syrah is a different type (clone) of grape.  it's called petit syrah because the grapes are small.  it's used to blend a lot because it imparts a ton of color and tannins because of the high surface/volume ratio, not used as a stand alone varietal much, except by winemakers that are either showing off, or have a lot of extra petit syrah planted.

That seems like a dangerous way to go about it.  I would suggest bringing your baseline level up during the week.  It's like stretching before you play sports, you don't just jump in and expect to play at a high level and not get hurt.  It's the same for drinking.

My normal sunday consists of laying on the couch until about 4pm after a night of boozing....

I didnt go out last saturday and BOOM, ended up painting an entire room and repainting the shed in the backyard.

Wine, like beer, is dead to me.  I don't like scotch either.  Vodka and water.  That's it.  If I drink, I'm getting drunk.  It is strictly an all or nothing proposition.

sometimes i feel like bread and i are soulmates.

Hey!  Downed two glasses of Italian wine.  Will switch to (my drink of choice) tequila later.  May work out in between.  (Yuck.) How about you, Steve Dave?
