So, along those same lines. If I have a card with an annual fee that I got strictly for the bonus, should I just cut it loose after the points hit my account? Is it better to wait 11 months and then cancel if I'm not planning on getting it again, or if there is no restrictions regarding churning on that particular card? For example, I'm going to get the Companion Pass next month on like the 17th or 18th, once I've confirmed that I have it do I just cancel those cards?

I've been holding off on getting Chase Hyatt card x2 for years, waiting for a sufficiently amazing opportunity.
There's no reason to cancel it earlier than that. I would hold it a year so chase doesn't flag you or something.

If Gooch has a SPG account but I don't, can I book a hotel room using his SPG account if he is not going to be there? (Like do they want to see the ID of the SPG member or is it automatically going to put the reservation in his name?)
I need a Sapphire referral link since Mrs. Gooch apparently doesn't want to keep the referral points in "the family".
