I'd rather the fade be taken out of the playbook regardless of who we have at WR. Is there a lower percentage play in football?

option to the short side of the field :peek:

Good lord, when was the last time that play worked?

Life starts the rest of the season knuckleheads

I'm not so sure. I think Sams will get the majority of snaps from now on, but Snyder is going to play Waters. Waters probably gets a couple more starts.

The most frustrating thing about "starting" Waters is that we really do waste those possessions, and seem to get ourselves in bad field positions.

Well, except when we drive it to the 9 yard line and get stopped on 4th down. Other than that, the first drive with Waters was really nice.
KSU_Fan, this is OT but do you think we should have went for it on 4th and 1?

Its always the wrong call when it doesn't work.

Seriously though, I liked going for it on the play, but it was the wrong quarterback. If Snyder is going to insist on this 2 QB thing (and he is), then make the right decisions. I'd even say the minute Waters overthrew Sexton on the fade on 2nd and 3 from the 11, Sams should've been in the game.

Agreed. The other thing that bugs about the timing of when they use Waters is that the play calling changes to heavy pass. On far too many of these occasions it has resulted in a 3 and out where only a few seconds have come off the clock. It's the complete opposite of control the game by controlling the clock.

Hey, if we're gonna lose, at least it doesn't go againsts Sams on his W/L record. He still hasn't lost a game for us as a starter...

BITB right now: Waters ran better, when he starts running the ball well, he has to be the guy.

What about #ourguy?

After rewatching, Waters did run the ball very well. He had a great game. But there is no question that the offense is more effective with Sams. None.

That was far and away Waters best running game. He made some big plays. The drive that comes to mind was is the one in which Sams got dinged up.

Agreed. I'm totally on board with Waters' overall improvement. We will need him to contribute, probably in a big way, to make a bowl or win the next 6. BITB's implication that some slight improvement in his run game makes him the guy is still poor trolling (I hope that's what it is) as all evidence, visual and statistical, would indicate #ourguy should be our guy, as long his shoulders, etc., allow.

Guys, #ourguy is #ourguy. Waters will play and I hope he plays well, but #ourguy needs to be #80%ofthesnapsguy.

Sam's rushing yards need to come out of more spread receiver sets where he can get to the sideline more often. He gets roughed up pretty bad running between the tackles with 8 in the box. His fumble last saturday was from a brutal collin klein'esque hit.

It was nice to see Waters actually run like he cared about gaining extra yards for a change. We beat NDSU and probably Texas easily if he would have just had that mentality all year. Losing the starting job has been good for him. He's still not as good as Sams, but at least he's better than he was.

I think everyone who acknowledged Waters improved running ability still wants Sams to get 80% of the snaps. Waters improving is good, though.

I want Sams to get 100% of the snaps. An injury of some sort seems inevitable, though, so it's great that Waters is getting better.

#80%ofthesnapsguy.

Add 20% to that and you would finally be right.

And Waters' "improvement" should be completely irrelevant. Did any of you know or care how much Marc Dunn improved during his time here? I'm guessing no.

100%, every rough ridin' snap.. I also want Snyd's to set up that one play on 4th and shorts-meeds around the opponents 40 or so, where it looks like S4ms would run a QB power off tackle, but he punts it down inside the 2, surprising the crap out of the other team.. would be the first punt I'd ever get fully torqued for, and would set up future play calling

BITB is tone deaf regarding QB's.  He is atrocious at having an intelligent conversation about it.

I still rarely listen to his show because of how Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) he was about Geno.  It was insufferable.

ever heard the adage in football that says if you have two starting qbs you essentially have none?

Why can't our staff see this?

I don't know, but based on what Snyder has said and done so far, both with continue to play.
