BTW, van lith is going to TCU. Y'all can get an up close and personal show of Sundell stuffing that munchkin in a locker.

This is dead to me now. I don't even live in Phoenix and I'm completely devastated. I feel like 27 years of my hockey watching life have been completely wasted.

Mark Mitchell, a former five-star McDonald's All-American and two-year starter for the Duke basketball program, entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball projects the 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward to take his talents to Kansas State, albeit with only one entered prediction thus far.

This is cap, by the way, we aren't recruiting this guy

Is that a recent change?  As of yesterday, I found 3 or 4 sources saying we were but they were all a week or so old at that time.

Those sources were weird college basketball aggregator twitter accounts, right? He's not been on campus and he's not going to be

I guess I was unaware that SI is a shitty aggregator now.

It actually is now, unfortunately

Because they moved it from Arrowhead?

It's complicated.

I forgot to mention during the 2nd half the PA guy announced the attendance and that it was the largest mls regular season game attendance in the state of Missouri, and also the 4th largest mls regular season game attendance ever. Then thanked the crowd for taking part in making history. It was one of the most amazing cringe things I've ever heard in my life

It was the largest attendance for any soccer match in Missouri history. This tweet was much more cringe for me.

I've had three different people send me the pic of her and Talia Bon Oelhoffen in Mexico. I'm glad women's basketball has a lot of new fans, but holy hell there's a crap load of horny dudes absorbing this content. Gabby also needed help from someone with better monetizing her stuff.

BTW northwestern has decided to go with this idea for football starting this season. I haven't found renderings yet. The way it's described is that the soccer field is going away and they will be sharing the football field with soccer and lacrosse. I'll try to find a rendering

Mo Valley losing 12 of 16 all conference players to the portal
I believe 9 of those came from Drake and Indiana State. A 10th player was tampered with by Iowa State and he's transferring from Northern Iowa. Dude announced his destination the day after the portal opened.

not sure if It Just Be Like That, but every time they showed a slo-mo replay where Eddy was involved (both defense and offense) he would just whack the crap out of whoever was in his vicinity. Specifically i'm remembering Eddy going for a slam dunk and the uconn guy tried to block it but his hand went thru the net and it was called goal tending but at the moment the ball rimmed out and Eddy seemed kinda mad that his dunk didn't count in the traditional sense, then on the way down (to the floor) Eddy just smacked that dude right in the mouth.

Another time was on defense the uconn guy drove the lane and did kind of a circus shot over Eddy's outstretched arms and then on the way down Eddy swatted that guy too.

In both cases it didn't really look like anything in real time, and the uconn players didn't try to sell the contact.

I have never played collegiate basketball (or professional) so i'm not sure if that's just how it goes sometimes or if Eddy is kind of a dirty bitch?

I played professionally, but not collegiately.

As to Storrs, it does feel like the middle of nowhere. Closest major metro is Hartford, I think, if you can even call Hartford a major metro. I stayed there for a few days in middle school, and I can't remember a single thing about Storrs other than the campus.

Hartford is absolutely a major metro, but when you're in Storrs, it may as well be two hours away. UConn has not traditionally done well with NYC kids because if you really want to stay close to home Storrs is a crap deal. It's 2.5 hours to NYC in good traffic. You can't even take a train from Storrs to NYC or Boston, you have to get to New Haven, which is an hour away, then take the commuter rail to the city.

121,000 souls, per the 2020 census. It's a nice, historic city, featuring Mark Twain's house and some old graveyards, but is that really a major metro?

You looked that up but didn't bother to look up the population of the Hartford Metro? 1.2 million people. Also Hartford, like basically everything between  Quincy, MA and Stamford, CT, is a massive sack of crap.

It'd be nice to have that added experience. But we'll see

We have 3 senior guards

HVL would almost certainly cost development time for Sides, but, conceptually, I very much like the idea of playing SS off ball a bit more - especially when she goes on TO frenzies (seems like they always happen in bunches).

Moving Serena off the ball would be nice, but Mittie is absolutely not going to do that. When either of the freshmen guards came in he still had Serena bring the ball up and initiate the offense. The point about HVL taking away minutes from the freshmen guards is my greatest reservation about her. It just doesn't make sense to me. If anything we need to be looking for a small forward to replace Gregory, but it looks like we are gonna roll with 3 combo guards and two bigs.

We made Van Lith's transfer shortlist.

Man, I hope this doesn't happen. She's a great value Serena Sundell
just stop.  now, I can agree that she would further complicate an already complicated roster situation and as s2’s biggest fan on this whole message board, I don’t think HVL is taking her minutes, but she’s a very good player nonetheless.

i just don’t see her minutes on this roster as it stands today, but I also don’t know what next year’s roster will look like so perhaps she will fill a need that we’re not aware of.

Offensively she's literally a carbon copy of Sundell but sightly worse almost completely across the board. Defensively it isn't close. HVL is an unathletic shrimp. We already have one unathletic shrimp guard but she's a freshman not a senior and a better shooter.

Van Lith is a better free throw shooter but she doesn't take as many, of course, and she doesn't turn it over as much.

Purdue decided to live or die by Edey but he was not up to the task this time.

Bro had 37 & 10, wasn't his fault

I'm not getting splash ads but massive banner ads on the top and bottom of the screen but even more annoying are the ads right the eff in the middle of the posts.

United are currently giving up between 20-30 shots per game which is among the worst in all of Europe. This has been mitigated in part by Onana who has settled in and been solid in goal. United also look like scoring at least 2 goals themselves per game. It's just pure chaos - which brings me back to the feeling that Ten Hag has given up. Not sure he'll survive the summer with new ownership.

Watched the Old Firm highlights too yesterday. What a game. Why did they get rid of away fans for this fixture? Sounded like they're bringing them back soon though.

I listen to this podcast called talk of the devils it's Manchester based, from the athletic. Anyway, they're pretty plugged in and they say that Radcliffe is bringing him back.

Kentucky is going to be wrecked with all the incoming guys following Cal. Whoever they hire will need to bring a roster.

They can build in the portal, which is what they should have been doing in the first place. If Tang can get K-State in the sweet 16 with two high school recruits, neither of which played, Kentucky should be fine, if they hire a good coach.
