So on Monday in Manhattan I had an experience that I'd like to share with you. Now most of you may not know this but when I lived in Manhattan in 2015 I was homeless for a month in December it was one of the hardest times in my life. Flash forward 2 years and I have my own company doing my dream job. Which brings me to Monday. I was in town for the eclipse and was sitting in the parking lot besides Rally House in Aggieville and a Hispanic gentleman named Javier approached me and asked for 50 cents, which I didn't have but I did offer to buy him dinner because all I had was large bills. He accepted and wanted to go to Burger King so we walked over, bought him some food, sat down, and talked to him. While talking to him I found out he was homeless. So I just offered him words of encouragement and hope. I told him not to give up because I had been there too and briefly explained my situation. I ended up talking to him for about 20 minutes. He asked if I knew who was hiring and I named a few places that were nearby. Then I left and went to a few places to put in a recommendation, and most seemed like they wouldn't give him a chance. When I got to Kites I talked to a manager, I explained that sometimes people just need a break or something to go their way. He said that he'd actually give him an interview. So I was happy that I could help so I went to look for Javier to tell him. I walked around the park and Aggieville for about an hour and couldn't find him so I left a note at Burger King because they said he frequented there. But I really wanted him to know about the interview because all you need is a something to go your way to change your fortune. I called in today to find out if he showed or interviewed yet, I'm still waiting to hear back. I know I'm not the only one who has helped Javier because the cashier said others have bought him meals. But today it got me thinking about Manhattan as a whole and the whole family aspect at K-State. Coach Snyder talks about how he came he because of the people and returned because of the people. I agree that's what separates Manhattan and K-State from others is the people. It just really touches my heart that there are still wonderful people in this world who would help someone in need instead of looking down on them. I'm grateful that I was homeless in Manhattan and not somewhere else and I feel comfortable that Javier will be taken care of by the wonderful citizens in the Little Apple. So please don't ever change what makes us the greatest place in the world. Thank you for reading and God Bless! #emaw

Only way we get in is if we beat tech AND win one game against Baylor/ISU/WVU in big 12 tourney.

Did anyone else see oscar mumble "eff Me" after the OSU freethrow?   :sdeek:

8
That's so like Frank to lose to a team like that at home!

9
Thornwell 23-31 from freethrow line.  :surprised:

10
Both Doug Stewart and TJ Carpenter were let go on January 9 around 3ish

2017 KSU commit Levi Stockard is playing in the Topeka invitational tournament at Topeka high. (BRUCEY WAS IN ATTENDENCELAST NIGHT) They play again tonight at 8:30 for all you Topeka Cats!

Also of note 2019 KSU recruit Mario McKenney is playing.

12
Would love to play them in the first round when we sneak in as an 11 seed.

13
Like the top 500 recruits get nominated, Greg. Only 20 go. Not a big deal.

Will Spradling was nominated.

15
Did they even have to open the upper deck?  Why do they subject themselves to this embarrassment ?

Kinda neat having a DJamer at the game!

Lmao it's not even gonna be shown live if you are outside KC.  It's gonna be shown at 11 am the next day.    Also I have to upgrade my tv package to get the channel.  :dubious:

i wonder how competent coaches will game plan for such a diverse offensive strategy.  no.  i don't because it's impossible to game plan for a one sided opponent.  because, no it's not really, just kidding.  when we're forced into a balanced game, we will get destroyed.

Yep, been saying this since the first exhibition game. We're not going to shoot unguarded 3 point set shots all season long. oscar's scheduling is cruel to our idiot fans and the players. Over the next month or so they'll start to believe we're/they're good at basketball, we're not.

So it's cruel to schedule winnable games that build our players confidence?

I'm not sure where you were able to dig that up, but I'm thankful that you did. I remember nearly having an aneurysm with some of those wins!

One more win away! Man we had some great times getting here!  :emawkid:

what an important two game stretch these next two games are

first up on the cats slate on sunday- a team called "hampton"   they are the pirates and are 0-1.

can the cats beat the pirates?  :Lurk:  to do so, wade really needs to wake up and get on his game!  come on dewayne dean!  the pirates will be a  tough test for these cats.
my mind's eye predicto:  cats sneak past the pirates cannons, 61-59   :fatty:

next up in the important two game stretch is a team called "robert morris"   :dunno:
the robert morris is also pirates I believe.  they currently sit at a very dangerous 0-3.  they are going to pounce on some unsuspecting team.  will it be the wildcats in the middle of our important two game stretch?  me hopes not.

I predict that the cats upset the pirates again.  this outcome will be 59-52 and the cats tally another w in the win column (w).  :Woohoo:

if the wildcats can win both games in this upcoming important two game stretch we have a very good shot of playing the eagles of boston college (1-1) closely and may even pull out an overtime game against them and lose closely.

keep an eye on the cats over this very important two game stretch.   :ksu:  because after boston college, we play a pretty good Maryland team. Then it's back to the grind with games against Wisconsin green bay and umkc roos.  :driving:  we need to play well.

What about Tennessee?

I forgot about them with the late January game time. But yeah, they are the best.

Everyone forgetting about Maryland?

we play Maryland?  I know we play BC...

We play the winner/loser of Maryland/Richmond game.  Since Richmond and BC are hot garbage we most likely will play Maryland in championship game .

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Key Non Conference Games
« on: November 12, 2016, 11:48:53 AM »
I thought it would be fun to see how some of our key noncon opponents faired last night......

1. Boston College lost to Nicholls  79-73
2. Tennesse lost to Chattanooga 82-69
3. Saint Louis lost to Ball St. 85-64
4. Washington St. snuck by in a nail biter to beat Montana St. 69-65
5. Maryland prevails against power house American 62-56

In conclusion, we might have to win 11 conference games this year to have any shot at the Tourney.
