Flipping Barry and Brown would be legit. The high school class has to be really close to filling up. We told Marquise Doherty that we are out of scholarships. Do believe that Barnes is a better running back recruit than Doherty.
How are we out of scholarships.
This is a really small senior class. I have 18 in my counts, so give or take one or two.
We have twelve commits (including Hughes and Reuter). From what I can tell, we have about 6-7 remaining major targets. If we get all of them, and to be honest, it looks like we're in great shape with pretty much everyone on that visit list, we'll have 18.
I'm guessing we're also keeping 2-3 in our back pocket to see if there's anything that pops up in the JUCO/Transfer market later in the year.
We're sitting at a full 85 right now based on my counts. Some of the guys that we assumed were walk-ons last year got a scholarship, I'm pretty sure (i.e. Davidson). So, there's not a lot of room.
RE: Barnes, I think he probably could be. Regardless, we've got enough guys in this class that are primarily RB's in HS, and even if one or two pan out, several are moving positions. Between Barnes, Goolsby, and Heath, someone's gotta move. Also, RB isn't really a primary need in this class. Jones still has two years, Warmack has four, and Leverett is a capable backup option behind them. Whoever we recruit at RB is sitting a while, most likely.
