Huge Royals fan Stevesie60 here. Now it seems weird, but I feel as if it's more acceptable to have two favorite teams in MLB moreso than in any other sport. For a long time I figured it was just Royals fan who were tired of following a small market team that hadn't competed in years, but I've brought it up with people from other regions and they seem to do it as well. About 99% of the time, it's an NL team and an AL team (would be 100% if it wasn't for Kat Kid's dumb ass).

So first of all, why is that? Because the AL and NL is more divided in MLB than in NFL, or the East and West is in the NBA? Because it's hard to watch baseball games if you don't have a rooting interest, so you may as well have multiple rooting interests? Am I completely off base for thinking this is special to MLB?

My main team is the Mets, who in the grown ups league, but my al team is the chi sox.

I'm a sucker for the red sox, there whole 2003 title run of "Why not us?" just sucked me in along with former royals super stud johnny damon.....also fell in love the the pats in 2001 when brady filled in for bledsoe.

Basically I am a bandwagon boston fan.

love my royals but growing up I lived in wyoming for like 13 years so the rockies were always on. larry walker, vinny castilla, andres galarraga, neifi perez, dante bichette, todd helton, quinton mccracken man what a team.

i think part of it has to do with how long the season is. 162 games is a crap load. so it's easier to be familiar with other teams, players, etc.

Sure, I get all that. But plenty of people like watching players on other teams without starting to like the teams, ya know? It seems unique to baseball for some reason.

Well documented but I've been a Braves fan all my life. started being into the royals a few years ago and after tonight they are my new number 1. I'll always be a Braves fan but it's a total dumpster fire there right now

2 days after the giants won, no crap, i saw a guy in the union who had on a royals hat and a giants WS champs sweatshirt. i was absolutely disgusted.

Every year I kind of do this so it changes. Royals due to proximity, and then 1 AL team and 1 NL team. Last year was the A's and the Pirates. This year I think I'll go with Cubs due to the 2015 Back to the Future thing, and since I'm in Canada and there is no other team, Toronto it is.

the NL is just trash baseball. I like the royals, followed by the omaha storm chasers (formerly the omaha royals), followed by eff the NL, followed by eff the rest of the AL.

some days I think I dislike the NL more than I like the storm chasers tho. so 2 and 3 are somewhat interchangeable.
