2016-17 Adversity thread

Foreign travel is only one part of the adversity K-State will face and benefit from, Weber said, in its time in Europe. Additionally, the Wildcats will face off with unknown teams in varying environments with different rules and officials who Weber said commonly brew up some “home cooking” on the court.

“I think that makes it even better because you have some tough situations that you deal with,” said Weber, adding that gyms without air conditioning filled with opposing teams’ fans are other forms of adversity the team may come across. “So you have all those situations. I think those all kind of add up to bringing teams along.”

Also, can someone fact-check this?

Quote
"I’ve been very fortunate to make 10, 11, 12 trips in my long journey through coaching, and I would bet in 75 percent or more we maybe won the league or definitely had a successful season,” Weber said.

didn't he get kicked out of a game last year in brazil?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

How often are you going to run players off?

This travel will probably be the culprit for Oscar failing to win a conference road game this season, might be time to kick off a few guys and go young for 2017-18. By that time he will have his five year extension.

“It took a toll on us with all the touring, moving around, walking around, just doing things before the game and not resting. It was different,” K-State senior Westicles said. “We didn’t really have any time to rest. It took a toll on our legs, but it was great. I compare it to the end of the season when you are tired and your legs may not be feeling good. It was good to face some adversity like that.”

In review, Weber said the trip provided the benefits he hoped the team would achieve.

“I always say it’s a microcosm of your season: You have your ups and downs,” Weber said. “You want adversity and deal with problems and situations. I don’t think we expected Delta (Air Lines) to have a computer crash on the first day … and all the flights were cancelled. We were fortunate to get on a plane the next day.
