They do a pretty good job at Intrust. They curtain off the upper deck and the lower bowl is about 1/2 to 3/4 full on good nights. But yeah a lot of the attendance is free ticket peeps but most people are actually engaged.

The crowds actually look a little more affluent with the move to the downtown arena. You can actually do something before or after in and around the arena. People really hated driving out to that dump Kansas Coliseum for a game to then immediately just head back home.

Quite possibly the worst of the worst in Wichita are the "I hate the new arena" crowd

 :Wha:
I didn't pay attention to the draft tonight cause I figured with where the Blues were picking I wouldn't recognize the players anyway. Checked in after the Royal game to find out we traded Reaves (love the guy but he's a compliment piece), Lehtera (our worst contract), and a picks for Brayden Schenn and an ok prospect  :emawkid:

And we still picked a guy with huge upside I knew about before the draft in Kostin  :excited:

Pretty fun surprise to follow the Royal comeback

Dallas and St Louis are the only Central teams that seem to have actively improved their roster this offseason. Everyone else got worse or held steady. Colorado is a dumpster fire but everyone else is a playoff contender once again.

Chicago- Patty Kane is still a piece of crap but he's also still one of the best players in the world. The team is crumbling but they're still a playoff team. My biggest fear though is that they just miss the playoffs then win the draft lotto.

Dallas- Got better this offseason but still a lot of questions. Does Hitch end up making their D better or does he hinder their offense like he was prone to late in his STL tenure? Can Bishop stay healthy? Can Radulov be as consistent without needing to prove himself? There's more but those are the big ones

Minnesota- They remind me so much of the Blues teams of 3-4 years ago. Good regular season team but not built for playoff success

Nashville- Was the playoffs them putting it all together or just a team getting hot at the right time? Defense is great but I'm not convinced their team overall is that much better than anyone else in the division.

St Louis- I love the moves we made this offseason but while I choose to believe that Allen turned a corner last year it's not proven. Health as always seems to be a concern. We lack the depth in playmakers to withstand multiple injuries but a healthy roster is pretty solid

Winnipeg- Look decent on paper, always underachieving. Until they prove differently, eh

Some guy on Twitter is saying some NHL deputy commissioner was on the radio in Vancouver saying the NHL wants 32 teams and the are interested in KC.  This started with a him tweeting "Kansas City is happening. Get ready. #NHL".  KC was the only city he mentioned.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

Seems like a very unlikely place and time to break that news. Also who is paying the $100 million dollar relocation fee? If there was a potential owner interested in Kansas City we'd certainly know by now. Post that tweet so I can mock this dude.

Well we got to the bottom of that, Lamar Hunt Jr. should never be mentioned in the same sentence as $500 million unless he wins Powerball.

Oh lol that is from that stupid Canadian I was tweeting with last night. He's a Royals and Chiefs fan in Montreal. He has zero insight or sources or anything.

you're right in that comment, if Lamar Hunt Jr. was going to be the acting owner the money would come from the Hunt Sport group or whatever their LLC is called, and would likely depend on minority owners as well.

The only way Kansas City is getting a team at this point is if Arizona or Nashville relocates. This time last year I would have given you about a 15% chance of that happening, after Nashville's Cup run and Arizona's ownership shake up, I'd now list those chances at nearly zero.

The Coyotes, Hurricanes, Blues are all going to be fighting to get to KC before we are awarded the 32nd team. WHO WILL LAND IN KC? I DONT KNOW BUT IM READY.

I'm well aware of that, we hashed that out already. I was explaining the only way Kansas City is getting a team, it ain't through expansion.

Well your first response was about a relocation fee so I was just clarifying.

I would agree that expansion is the least likely way for kc to get a team
