Our biggest obstacle here will be convincing Marcus to pass the ball once in a while. K-State is a very beatable team, but close enough it will be a challenge.

We aren't as crazy fast as we once were, but they are one of the slowest teams in the country. If we can get them running we can pour it in.

It's kind of a good warmup for the Virginia style of play, that's how K-State tries to win, but UVA is much much better at it, obviously. Suffocating defense that slows down the game, then take the full 30 on the other end as well.

Didn't realize we were seen as being that slow...

CU plays at about 75 Possessions a game.
We do play slower at about 68, but Virginia is around 62 per game.

i don't understand the thought that because kstate plays at a slower pace their transition defense would consequently be poor.

I think the belief is that all of the extra running from those extra possessions will tire us out.

they'd be better off trying to wear out wade's foot and brown's eye, imo.

oscar is finally going to get 1 of his recruits past the round of 64

Given UVA's easy first-round game, Oscar is guaranteed one of his boys to the Sweet 16.

Agreed, pace of play does not mean you are slow. People conflate these all the time. If Wade is close to 100%, we win. I like this matchup for us.

McDermott going fast paced post-Doug is kind of a neat surprise. He's kept most of his SLTH tenants at Creighton (they don't oboard, deboard really well, don't force TOs, don't foul), but the last 3 years went from playing slow (below average) to really fast. This has mainly shown up on offense where Creighton has has offensive possessions around 15 seconds (which is really quick) the last few years. Defensively they've maintained the slow pace.

They’ve had exceptional guards the last few years. I wonder if McD is playing to the players’ strength or if it is a permanent change.

So all is forgiven? That's great that Marcus Foster finally grew up. But the point is, he sabotaged our basketball program. It doesn't matter what he's BECOME, it matters what he WAS.

How can we now look at this three years later and say all is forgiven. Has he apologized to KSU coaches and fans? No! And I doubt that he ever will.

To say "let's move on" and absolve poor little Marcus for his sins is unreasonable, considering the impact that his behavior had on our basketball program. There is no doubt that it set us back.

No, Marcus Foster should be held accountable and he should never be forgiven for what he did.

It's BS to excuse it all by blaming immaturity and age. Nineteen year-olds are not children. The choices he made were selfish and reckless. And we paid for it.

 Krampelj injury--
They played 12 games vs good competition before he got hurt (7 League games + Northwestern, Ucla, Baylor, Gonzaga, Nebraska).  They played 12 league games after his injury

Their shooting % was almost identical in the 12 before and the 12 after.   Foster shot the ball a little more. He had 15.5 FGA in 33.5 minutes with Krampelj.  Put up 17.9 FGA in 36 minutes without him.   Thomas actually shot 1 less FGA per game since the injury

As said earlier, their rebounding and their defense have not been as good without Krampelj.  They allowed 50.1 eFG in the 12 with him and 54.3 in the 12 without him

Weber is going all out to get to the round of 32.  Playing mind games with McNeck. Probabaly have Barry show up to practice with an eyepatch.

oscar is already playing mind games.  McNeck better get a shave and a trim and look pretty for the camera because his portrait is about to be added to the "People who have had their faces X'd and O'd off" thread....

The ultimate "win-win" gamesmanship by #oscar...

If we lose, Dean's foot is a built in excuse.  But, if we win, he just played the "injury card" with McDermott and their preparation.
