Been brain storming a few ideas to pay tribute to Fatty at "Fan Appreciation Day"

The obvious one will be having the AD play Birth of K-State Football on the big screen before the game. If I remember it was something that Fatty wanted but knew would never be done.

Other ideas would be:

Student section holding up large cardboard panels spelling out Fatty4KSU

The football players wearing "FFF" on there helmet or uniforms

Shawn's parents toss the coin at the start of the game.

Just to let everyone know what we are kind of planning, we are going to set up a summer event in Manhattan to raise money for the fatty fat fat fund. We may also do something at one of the football games. This is going to be an ongoing philanthropy even after whatever memorial is complete. We will let everyone know once we have dates. Hopefully we can pick a time that works for most people.

One year ago tomorrow we lost him. I remember I found out right before the game and watched the entire game while taking/making calls with everyone on here. The game was so surreal. RIP friend.

Can't think of anyone who made me more welcome on this site... but not too welcome... for a non-KSU fan, if you know what I mean. I don't know a Cyclone fan who hadn't seen his "Nebraska's 8 turnovers vs Iowa State," much less an ISU fan who didn't love that video. I'm positive he's up there painting heaven purple... I just hope he leaves a nice McDonald's-colored corner in the back of the room for me. RIP.

was such an odd/horrible feeling. i didn't know the guy in real life, felt weird to be impacted so much by someone i had never formally met in the real world. but it was real.

I don't think I ever posted this last year, but I met him when we had a class (lab) together back in 2008 I think. I didn't know who he was at the time but apparently he knew who I was, and as I was browsing ksufans during class he PM'd me asking "How do do you problem #4?" I turned around and he was like 2 rows behind me waving me over.
