Farewell Fatty
« on: March 03, 2012, 01:09:17 PM »
Just got word that Shwan Alkhatib (A.K.A. Fatty) passed away yesterday. Nobody seems to know how it happened, but his brother found him already gone.

Schwan spent the last few months of his life working tirelessly to find doctors and treatment options for older brother, who is fighting cancer. Schwan put his own life on hold to move closer to his brother during the treatment process. The Alkhatib family has been dealing with the illness of one son for a while now, but the death of another is just too much to imagine. When remembering Fatty, think of his family as well.

Maaaan, I didn't even know the guy, but his EMAWness always got me pumped for games/gave me hope that we had a chance.  To say he'll be missed here is an understatement, prayers to his family.

there has never been a better kstater.  as kstaters, as townies, as kansans and as people, we are less than we were.

The last time I talked to Fatty was back in May. I told him not to buy the Bottomless Cup at the Student Union.

He did the math and agreed it was an awful buy.  :frown:

Wasn't he living in the Bay Area, or was he back at K-State? I think he was a fellow computer engineer. Will be missed, even though I didn't know him personally.   :frown:

He was still a grad student at K-State, but he had moved to the bay area temporarily to help his brother.
