It appears the seachange from election outcomes being driven by policies to being driven by identity politics has occurred.  Many younger voters voted for the person not because of the person''s policies they support.  It is being reported that there a lot of first whatevers and a mass of women.   Modern education has made young ignorant of issues and history.  Thus they treat elections like they are choosing class officers at school.   Looks and popularity are more important than substance; Beta is an example.

This is starting to become like when you have to put your beloved dog down.  You don't want to, but you know that you must.

Opponent 1 Kennesaw State.
Rectal thermometer bad.
If we don't beat them big time, this will be a long year.  Margin over Pit State was one of the largest in many years.

Steffy makes a good point about wins last year to go to bowl,  but ...
The downward trajectory is obvious, and at what point does the Cat family say enough or become horribly divided.
I would not support Sean as HC.  I think it would tear things apart.  See what bad coach hires have done to KU.
I guess the bottom line is $$$$.  Would you buy a season ticket for next year if Bill stays on or Sean is HC?
All of my points are mute if Bill retires gracefully.  I have my doubts he will.
What is a mute point, renocat?
How an exit is handled can mean so much.  Done ugly, Snyder''s legacy could be tarnished, and the fan base divided.  Frank''s departure was ugly, and messed up that fan base.  Retire and he can avoid tearing us apart and harming his legacy.
renocat, I had this vision last night of what the atmosphere would be like for Bill's last game at BSFS on 11/17 if the retirement was announced sometime prior to game. It be an electric buzz of good EMAW feelings and appreciation like we haven't experienced since 12/1/12. Bill still holds the power to heal and unify the K-State family with his exit.
I hope.  I was at the game where he got win 200.  I admit that cried.  He means so much to us.
The next coach needs a handoff in an atmosphere of love.  If so, I think the administration might be willing to give a hotshot assistance from somewhere to be HC like they did for Snyder.

That’s a bad post
Please refute as I want Snyder to leave as a ledgend.
Consider this from Football scoop.com 2017
"So, yes, there’s a reason Paterno and Bowden are the appropriate examples when understanding the dynamic between Snyder and Kansas State. Those three coaches are the only three of the four men to actively coach as members of the College Football Hall of Fame’s coaches wing, and each built his respective program from fringe activity into a cultural and civic institution. Paterno and Bowden also saw their tenures meet horrifically ugly ends, and it’s possible Snyder’s story ends the same way in Manhattan."

No comparison to the Joe Paterno ending, but sort of.
Beloved coach tainted forever by end of career stupidity and actions.  I am surprised that Snyder is not getting hell for chastising a black kid.  I am sure Zuber is gone.

Next year will be horrid is Snyder stays.  Last year we got to a bowl on a end of game miracle against ISU.  Not by the KSU way.   The mystic of Cat Football is dead.   Hopefully it is not too late to regain
Never return to Futility U.    Snyder has set us ironically on the path to become it again.

Thank goodness we have some football team to root for.  Sure blunts our mess.

Nearly 30 players have left the team the last two seasons for reasons other than graduation, recruiting has been tepid and indications are that the blind faith Snyder once enjoyed has eroded. -- KC Star.

If he doesn't leave, his players will leave.  No discipline is a sign of tumult within the organization.  Taking a dump on Zuber is bad.9

If anyone else posted this, literally anyone, I would have read it. Since renocat did, DID NOT READ!
You and others are now jumping on the bandwagon cause you it's now a big deal.  All summer crickets.  There are basketball lovers on this board.  KU fans are rabid.  Keeping their chat going all year.  Last night the arena was basically empty except for students and the purple peons on the north end.   I often wonder does our fan base deserve a successful team.  This article should swell us we pride.

The democratic approach and feel of college basketball's postseason competition is a major selling point of the sport.

2018-19 PREVIEW
Ranking every team, from No. 1 to 353
The 100 (and one) best players
Ranking the 15 best point guards
March is synonymous in sports with only one thing: college hoops. That's a benefit and a burden, but it ultimately reminds us that any school with Division I alliance is in competition for the college basketball's ultimate prize. We get to see this in tangible form through high-stakes league tournaments that beget one of the most beautiful sights in the world: an NCAA Tournament bracket. An arrangement that can include Duke, Kansas and Kentucky in the same vat of frenzy as Tennessee Tech, Murray State, Lehigh and UC Davis.

Whereas college football, which is obviously fantastic in its own ways, has formal, informal and plutocratic ways of limiting its national playoff and championship to a select sect of programs, college basketball at least allows teams for the hopes of getting in and then becoming Loyola-Chicago, Butler, George Mason, Wichita State or VCU. There is no school getting wrongly suppressed the way UCF football was last year ... and, though still undefeated as of now, could again this season.

The reality is, college basketball's mid-majors (and UNLV under Tark does not count) haven't won national titles because it's excruciatingly hard to do so. Schools in power conferences have more resources, coaching advantages and recruiting assets to withstand four months of play -- and then go on to beat five or six good-to-great opponents when it matters most.

Every year college basketball has more national title contenders than college football, but the cache of teams is seldom larger than 20. In 2016 I identified 19 candidates. Last year it was 16 -- as is the number for the season ahead. And not all championship hopefuls can be grouped together.

But I do guarantee to you that one of these 16 will wind up at the end of "One Shining Moment" on the night of April 8,

Kansas
Breakdown: With KU's annual ownership of the Big 12 (if you've lost count, it's going for 15 straight regular season titles, which shouldn't be possible in the material world), it gets tough to sort one really, really good Jayhawks team from another really, really good Jayhawks team as the years go on. But this one truly could be a top-five Kansas crew under Bill Self. Even with the college basketball corruption trial becoming an appendage to the Kansas story of 2018-19 (Silvio De Sousa is indefinitely on leave because of what was uncovered in federal court), the Jayhawks have a stock of veteran talent up front and promising freshmen in the backcourt. Dedric Lawson, who came by way of Memphis, will join forces with Udoka Azubuike to make up what might be the most intimidating 1-2 big man combo in college basketball. Flashy guard Quentin Grimes is likely one-and-done, while Lagerald Vick is back for his senior season. This should be a better team on defense than the one from last season ... which made the Final Four.

Stat to know: The Jayhawks have 10 guaranteed or potential matchups during the regular season against teams that are reasonably projected to finish first or second in their conference: Michigan State, Vermont, Louisiana, Tennessee, Marquette, Wofford, New Mexico State, Villanova, South Dakota and Kentucky. And this doesn't

Kansas State
Breakdown: Claws, Xavier Sneed and The Flush Jr. all come back from an Elite Eight team that got devastated by 16 points to Loyola-Chicago. But since there are seven teams with at least three players on our top 100 (and one) list of the best players in college basketball, and K-State is one of them, they have to be put in this company. After all, the other six are: Kansas, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Nevada, Virginia, Duke. Of those six, Kansas State should be better on defense than Duke, Nevada and maybe Gonzaga and Kentucky. It might be hard to reconcile K-State as a contender for the natty, but this the dark horse category. By its nature it's hard to envision. Still, there's enough on that roster to make this team a threat to win four, five or six games in March and April. Very much will be about the matchups with these Wildcats.

Stat to know: Between Wade, Brown and Sneed, Kansas State returns 43 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and nearly five steals per game."

Main worries was free throw shooting and Pitt Gorillas had to many easy drives.
I heard guy next to me said Barry has a foot injury.  I hope they burned that damn boot.
Kam is going deathbite.
Sneed got muscle and still smooth.
Trice and Williams look ready to go.
I'd take Stockard over Mawien.
Mawien grandma spin move is pathetic
Best holy cow moments were McGuirl lobs for dunks.
Fun night.

At the game.  I was proud of the kids.  The Bezerko Boys down low had to have Greg the bunch.
West side fat cats were shameful.
